    Is this ok?

Funny you mention that. I too noticed in my '68 shop manual (the car is a '67) that the brake diagram shows an anchor going across the top side, but this car never had one (both sides). What gives? Thanks! Eric

    Is this ok?

Here is a pic of my rebuilt front drum brakes. If you notice, the right hold down spring is pointed a little off. Is this a problem? I got a small area of the shoe contiminated with my gloves, can I just sand this off? Does it even matter? Thanks in advance, Eric

Do the hubs need to be pressed back to the drum?

Thanks for all responses! I called around to get the studs replaced and they want around $50 bucks for both sides including studs!! I think that's a little steep. How about if I just tap out and in the old and new studs myself? Does anyone know of a shop in the Los Angeles area that will...

Do the hubs need to be pressed back to the drum?

I was checking out my studs today and they are actually in ok/good condition, but they were beat to hell by a heavy sledge (this is how we got the hub to seperate from the drum). So, should I replace them?

2amp trickle for 3hrs every night

This brings up a good question. As the car sits for a long periods of time (>1yr), is it a better idea to start it up and let it run in the driveway for 10 minutes or wait to start and actually drive the car every 6 months or so to really bring it up to temperature. I guess I am concerned...

Do the hubs need to be pressed back to the drum?

I managed to seperate my original '67 brake drums from the hub. So, when installing the new drums, do they just slip over the hub or do they need to be pressed back in. I also need to buy new wheel studs. Aside from matching up with the original pieces, what are the measurement specs of the...

    Classic Mustang Brake Question

Tonight I started replacing the stock front drums on my '67 Fastback. Now for a long time, my LH wheel cylinder has been leaking and steadily my braking power and pedal obviously has degraded over time. Well, I jumped in the car to pull it around and soon as I put my foot to the brake pedal...

    Global West LCA Install ?

Hey guys, So I installed these lower arms on my FOX and everything went pretty well, until I went to re-install the stock rear swaybar. I must have been super dumb yesterday, but I could not figure out how the sway bar is supposed to mount to the rear LCAs. It seems that the bar is too wide...

Need help with Granada Brake swap

I am about to finally install this swap on my '67 Fastback, but I need to finalize on a couple of needed parts. So far, I have the spindles, rotors, pads, calipers, hoses, correct master cylinder. At first I was going to stay with manual brakes, but I am thinking it might be a smart move for...
