    Painting under the hood black?

I just used a rattle can of Ceramic flat black. It looks pretty good IMO and has been durable. If you plan on keeping it clean, gloss black looks really good on my buds 69 Camero.

    MPG change after cam swap

You'll notice the change. You'll want some more head work, and possibly a different cam choice if you want a HIGH RPM 302. Or just go with a TFS Track/Performer RPM II intake, it will better match your combo when compared to the Victor. I think the TFS R will give better low end than the Victor...

    carbed or efi?

You should build your motor for boost. It's much better for a daily driver than a 400 WHP all motor setup. You'd get your goal with ~11-14 psi on a mildly modified 302.

    Header tube size?

A different intake, or intake work would make more of a difference. If you've already got 1-5/8s I would stick with those until you get stroked or blown.

    Header tube size?

I would say anything more than a typical H/C/I combo would see benifit by going to a larger primary.

    Pure o2 shot

A buddy of mine did this with his T/A. It worked well actually, he used a welding bottle running after the regulator and ran the hose before the MAS. He said it was like a 50-75 shot. His motor did not blow up, but I would not suggest using it. The Nitrogen acts as a buffer and saves your motor.

    Fuel Pump question...

Don't know what Hanes was smoking when he wrote that...but you only have one fuel pump, it's in the tank and will need to be dropped to get to it. Most pumps are from Walbro, depending on your future mods, you can go with any in-tank and be OK. And Hanes needs to puff puff give!!!

    Paxton or Vortech

Let's just say you are making around 300 FWHP now, with 8PSI you'll be making ~420-440 with a proper tune. Your 30# injectors will be well over 80% duty cycle(closer to 95%) at 40 psi. You'll need to run them at around 60 psi to get them ~80% at full boost. This will require an FMU and at...

need help fast: Roller rockers making noise

Do you have new lifters as well? Did you prime them? If not, run it a few minutes and they should come around. If you didn't change lifters then you may need to re-adjust the rockers. If they still make noise, a lifter may have failed due to the extra stress.

    bigger fuel pump?

It will only affect WOT, your eyes are burning due to your tune. 38-40 should be your FP with the vacuum pulled.

    C&L or Pro-M

The only difference between the OEM and Pro-M parts is that the Pro-Ms are electronically calibrated to the requested injector size, the hardware is used the same way. C&L uses different sized sampling tubes to do this.

New to the board, question about smog pump

I would suggest a 190/192 Tstat as the most efficient combustion occurs ~200 degrees. It's not a pure drag car with 14.5:1+ compression after all. Getting the temps up there should help the smog test quite a bit. No need to go lower than 38psi on the fuel pressure, as too lean a condition...

1.7 Cobra Rockers, should i use shims?

Yes, what you are seeing is normal, just do as stated above and rotate the crank until the lifter is on the base circle. Use shims only as needed. They come in two different sizes...two thin ones are usually equal to one thicker.

    what carb????

The Deamons are some really nice carbs and will give you the most power, tuning gets much easier as you work with them. Edelbrocks, as stated above, is the easier carb.

Porting 93 Cobra heads vs GT

You can get similar results, but you'll just have to spend more time and $$ on the E7s to get them to where your ported Cobra heads would be.

    Engine help!

Having been thru this, I would say build one on the side, theres MUCH less stress when small things come up...like a cracked block!! DOH!! But by the sounds of it(blown 331) you may want to save for sportsman or even an R/A4 block. After getting ~450-500 NA,FWHP I still want a blower..but the...

My Xenon HID conversion is finally finished! *PICS* Didnt cost me a penny ;)

Actually Xenon is a gas. It has better properties than Halogen (another gas) at helping the filaments in bulbs stay brighter longer. I have been wanting to add HIDs to my road stang for quite some time. I have the bulbs and ballast off an Acura. One question though, how many times do you get...

tranny leak at the drive shaft

2" seems a bit much but should be OK. I'd feel more comfy with 1 to 1.5" post seal contact.

    2.5" X-pipe into 2.25" tails?

No problems at all and as stated above, should help your low end a tad.
