    Could you use a high speed electric die grinder (small handheld one) with different grit wheels to do this? If you can it would save you tons of time and agony.     yea if all you have done is some exhaust you either have something seriously wrong with your car or your gauge is wrong. If you're going through that much fuel you must notice it leaking out on the ground or the car running horrible. Check the ground for fuel, then check again, I don't know...

    You should remove the plug next to it, the easiest way to do it is to take all four plugs out of one side and do all the compression tests, put them back on, and do the same on the other side. Also, when you're watching your coolant bubble, is this before or after the thermostat opens up?....or...

    oh yea, one more thing while i'm thinking about it. Take your radiator cap off ( it needs to be pretty cool). Go boil some water and put the cap in it. You should be able to see the cap's spring recoil due to the heat. If it doesn't move, your cap is bad, go buy a quality Stant cap.
