    That's what I thought... A buddy of mine has a midpipe, but it's been stored outside for about a year.. Does that mean the cats are already shot? Or how much would it take to ruin the cats?

    Price on Gear Install

    Just got mine done... Had new 3.73s and all new bearings/seals replaced/installed and cost me 550 out the door.. That includes parts and labor.. Had a shop tell me it was going to cost 1700-1900 to rebuild the rear, and I quickly gave them the :nonono: :eek: :nono: and took my car somewhere...

    odd problem-car turning on and off while driving

    Hey everyone... I had the same exact problem when I first got my mustang, except I also had the added bonus of the car deciding when it wanted to start and not start. Didn't matter what the temp was, how long it had been sitting, etc. Would even die driving down the road and wouldn't start back...

    Well that's what I asked, if everything else looked good, and they told me that there was a little fluid left, not like it was dry... tloc was fine, axles looked good.. said new bearings/gears and the rear end will be 20X better than before...

    Hmm.... well being that I'm not too hip on the inner workings of the rearend, can you try to decode just a bit? so the carrier bearing would be inside the rearend, obviously..?? and the carrier bearing (in it's slowly declining days) can make the whining noise when under acceleration?

    I don't know about the rattle, but when my cats were going out, I noticed an extreme amount of back pressure, so much that getting up to higher rpms took some serious pedal.. Got an h-pipe/no cats = no back pressure...

    Hey Adam... not to come off as sounding rude, but you said you swapped the motor in your probe, but you can't change the clutch in your mustang? IMO, the clutch is waaaay easier....
