    Your Thoughts

Also, for your consideration check out BamaChips and BrenSpeed. They have great CAI/tune package deals, and their custom tunes are the most popular with S197 owners. BC sells Predator and SCT, BS sells SCT only. Personally, I use the Predator with BC 93 Race tune, and I've never looked back.

    excessive rear brake pad wear

The ABS module's DRP(dynamic rear proportioning) may be faulty, which can cause excessive rear brake pressure when the brakes are applied.

    Couple questions about 2009 GT

Congrats on your S197 GT purchase! As other have suggested, it's highly recommended that you install a tune and CAI. They will really wake it up. Also suggest that you get a BamaChips tune. Doug is a tuning wizard with auto equipped S197 GT's. His 93 octane Race tune is a screamer. I use it...

    Accidental Oil Mix

If the oil level check at 1500 miles was the 1st time, and it hasn't used any oil since that time, then it may have been a quart low from the factory.

    Accidental Oil Mix

If the engine did not need any additional oil when you added a quart at 1500 miles, then doing so can overload the PCV system and overpressurize the engine's oil sump area, possibly causing the engine oil seals to fail. If you do not see any oil leaking from below the engine, then the seals are ok.

New Strip time for the 05 gt

Keep at it, and you'll get there.

    Frozen windows

Agree, but on the other hand it doesn't cost much to mix some vinegar and water in a spray bottle. You just have to tolerate smelling like a douche while driving down the road. :rlaugh:

Upgrading the horse power in my 08 stang

Forget mufflers and TB's. The former is for sound change only, and the latter is worth no extra hp. Your best bang for the buck is a tune and CAI. That combo is good for approx. 25 rwhp, and also gets rid of the notorious "throttle nanny". Good deals and great tunes are available from numerous...

New Strip time for the 05 gt

I hear ya. But on the other hand, you would know if your car can break into the 12's as currently modded.

    sluggish shifting

If you're doing mostly city driving(light to light) from a cold start, then the engine will reach normal operating temperature up long before the tranny warms up, and it will still be hard to shift even after driving for a period of time. In this situation, there is nothing wrong with the tranny...

    Brenspeed tune problem?

+1 on the :notnice: for octane boosters. They also foul the spark plugs, which requires replacing them, and that isn't a cheap fix especially if you're not a shady tree mechanic.

New Strip time for the 05 gt

+1 Low ambient temps also enable the engine to produce more hp.

    Neutral

If that's the only thing that changed with your driving style, and the ambient temps haven't dropped considerably from one tankful to the next, then keep going downhill in neutral if maximizing mpg is your main priority. But your brake pads and rotors will take a beating, and require premature...

    Quick Question on CAI/Tuner/OCTANE!

If the Predator came loaded with only one C&L tune, then it may be a 91 octane tune.(That's how it worked a while back. I haven't been keeping up with DiabloSport's tunes since I switched to a BamaChip's tune.) You should be able to check this either in the Predator instructions, or by...

    Frozen windows

Auto parts stores sell de-icing sprays that will melt the ice. Or you can make your own de-icing spray with a 50/50 mix of either water and vinegar, or water and rubbing alcohol in a spray bottle.

    Brenspeed tune problem?

Great suggestions. But if they don't fix the problem, then the cause may be carbon build up in the combustion chambers. I had a pinging problem with BamaChip's 93 Race tune. After unsuccessfully attempting to eliminate it by trying different brands of gas and adjusting the timing and A/F...

    Water Leak

One possible cause of the water leakage are the two black rubber grommets(for lack of a better term) that are inserted into the bottom of the firewall just outside of the left and right sides of the engine. They normally drain water that collects within the firewall. However, they can collect...

    Jumping out of gear

If they're a bunch of a$$holes, they may raise a stink about the replacement shifter regarding the tranny jumping out of gear, even though it should not be related to that problem. If they balk, then go to another dealer.
