sluggish shifting

I have an 05 w/26,ooo miles. It's a V6 5 spd. convertible. In the winter when I shift it barely moves, even after I warm it up. It's like I'm starting out in third gear. eventually it improves as I drive. I also have trouble getting it into first at times. I love my car, but this is really frustrating. I hate to take it straight to a dealer without some knowledge as to what's wrong. Help!!!

Its a good bet that its either shifter booshings or some other linkage related issue. Just take her to the dealer and see what they say. Is it still under warantee?

If you're doing mostly city driving(light to light) from a cold start, then the engine will reach normal operating temperature up long before the tranny warms up, and it will still be hard to shift even after driving for a period of time. In this situation, there is nothing wrong with the tranny if it eventually shifts easier after driving for a longer period of time. And the colder the ambient temperature, the longer the tranny will take to warm up.
On the other hand, the tranny should warm up fast if you drive on the open highway from a cold start, and it should be easy to shift after a much shorter period of driving time as compared to the above. If this is your driving pattern, then something may be wrong with the tranny if it takes a long time to start shifting easily.
