    Unisteer Rack & Pinion

68efisuper....you have just created a terrible bumpsteer situation in your car. It will be wrong on both sides and at the same time different on both sides. You need to recenter the rack and fix the clearance issues. Your method of install is not correct and no one should follow your lead...

EFI Guys - TFI Coil Location and Bracket

It really does not matter where you mount it. On Fox cars the coil was mounted on the shock tower and on SN95 cars it was mounted on the engine. You can do whichever you like. If you are using an aftermarket coil just consult the manufacturer to see if the coil can take the vibration of being...

    Speedometer question

Just transfer the entire odometer to the new speedometer. It is not hard. Just pry one end until the whole roller assembly comes free.

    Lost on I-45

Mine have been on my Shelby for 40 years and 127K miles with pop rivets so I really don't know what to tell you. You should probably use those backing washers they make for rivets for a more secure attachment.

    lincoln versailles rear end

You need a new carrier that is the trac-loc and bearings. Then you can simply transfer the ring gear to the new carrier. You also need some special tools and the knowledge on how to put it all back together correctly. Most people should have a shop install a new carrier. If you have to ask...

    Should i get this welder?!?!?!

The smaller Migs like the 175 Pro only pull about 17 amps so there is no issue using the dryer plug except for the fact that the dryer receptacle is 30 amp and the welder's plug is 50 amps and thus will not connect. The simple issue is to make a simple adapter with a 50 amp receptacle a short...

    Should i get this welder?!?!?!

Yes, the 175 Pro is a Mig, and one of the suitcase ones like pictured above but with more amperage. It is also 220V but you don't want a 120V unit regardless of what others tell you.....they are just TOO small.

    Should i get this welder?!?!?!

That welder is too small. Like most tools you initially buy with the intent of doing a specific job but after using the tool your scope widens after you realize what you can do. I have a Lincoln 175 Pro and although it has been a great welder it is also a little on the small side for me now...

OK. I used IE and it opened....funny thing is I already have that PDF saved on my hard drive so I wonder why it would not open through Firefox.

If you are shooting for 300HP at the wheels then you had better and a set of decent heads to that list of parts.

    Heads milled - mill intake?

Jeff, if you call Joe and make an appointment to drop off something on Saturday Joe will be more than glad to have someone meet you there. It is also likely that they will be working on the dyno on Saturday so there might be someone there already. Best to call and confirm.

Jeff, I don't know the answer for you but I can give you someone to call tomorrow and get a real answer that you can rely on. Owens Racing Engines 2308 North Austin Avenue Pearland, TX 77581 Ask for Joe. He can tell you all you need to know and can do the work for you if you are willing...

I want to 'downgrade' to a v6, tell me what you think

Belive me.....a SHO V6 will make more useable power than a 289 unless you really build up the 289 at which point you will be getting such lousy mileage the benefit of the SHO engine becomes even greater. Throw a budget turbo setup on the SHO engine and not only will you spank most 289 cars you...

I want to 'downgrade' to a v6, tell me what you think

That is what the information I have found says, that it weighs about as much as a 289/302....actually a few pounds more. I want to keep it as far back as possible. You really can't move it forward anyway or the tranny bellhousing would be into the steering linkage. The whole oilpan/pickup is...

I want to 'downgrade' to a v6, tell me what you think

66Runt.....I want to drive this car, not spend the next decade building it. I want a basically stock body and this is going to be a daily driver so I think I will stay with a more conventional drivetrain layout.

I want to 'downgrade' to a v6, tell me what you think

I don't suggest you move the SHO engine forward much if you can help it as it is a rather heavy engine from the information I have found.
