    Shelby America Museum-Las Vegas

Cool place, went there a couple years ago. I like that they have windows into the main work area so you can see what they're working on.

    Scuff plates?

I'm not sure if this is a problem because it's a convertible, I don't think coupes have inner rockers? Here's a pic, I can fit my finger between the scuff plate and the outer rocker

    Scuff plates?

It's actually the other way, sits a big 1/4" too high over the outer rocker. I'll take a pic tomorrow

    Scuff plates?

I have new scuff plates for my 65, they sit really high. I assume you crush them down when you put the screws in but I have the feeling it will look totally wonky. They do look like the old ones but don't seem to fit the same, at least not yet. Thought I'd ask before I mess them up B

65 mustang convertible top switch direction?

Yes the switch will work no matter what. I just want the roof to go up when I toggle the switch to "up" and not have to push up for down and down for up. I guessed yellow wire on top, won't know until I finish the restoration. It's a very tight area to get into and lining up the bezel pins with...

65 mustang convertible top switch direction?

Does anyone know which way the switch for the power top goes in? Naturally they couldn't stamp an "up" on it. There's a red wire on one end and a red on the other. Ideally I would like the top to go up when I move the switch to the up position. If I guess wrong, and I definitely will I can flip...

    Classic instruments speedo calibration button?

Mystery solved, this unlabeled thing of which they gave me two of, is the calibration button. It's totally remote, nowhere near the speedometer. Great tech guy, had answers to all my questions without having to dig into it. Turns out that the American autowire harness provides some wires that...

    Classic instruments speedo calibration button?

Yes it's the filter button, switch from ECM to VSS so nothing to do with calibration. I called them and I'm on the call back list so hopefully I can get it sorted out today.

    Classic instruments speedo calibration button?

Well that looks convenient. I can't even find the button let alone wires to connect to it. There's a filter switch but that's not it. There's nothing on the front and this is the back

    Classic instruments speedo calibration button?

There is a on/off button but no wires.

    Classic instruments speedo calibration button?

Trying to wire the classic instruments 5 gauge set for 65/66 mustang. Says to connect to 2 wires on the speedometer calibration button. Anyone know where said button might be? There's 2 knobs inside the speedo but they don't seem to have loose wires and I don't want to put a hook in there and...

    1966 Front Sheetmetal installation order/process

I find the fenders want to move in tight to the door and rocker at the bottom. This seems to relax quite a bit when you pull the bottom front of the fender inward to attach to the valance. I think getting the valance lined up and bolted before tightening the bottom back fender bolt and the bolt...

    Dual master upgrade

That sounds good. I'll call them and hopefully talk to someone there that can make sure I get what I need. Going to wait until I'm close to the end of the build. Thanks for all your input!

    Dual master upgrade

I'm going to stick with the stock setup for now. I'm still wiring it and have lots left to do before I can drive it. I figure it's best to do the upgrade at the end in case it needs to be sent back. It's a restomod type build so I was looking at Willwood as they look a bit more high tech. I...

    Dual master upgrade

How do you calculate bore size? I thought it would be pretty standard, factory power brake car has 1" bore for instance. I haven't found anything difinitive about that. They make conversions and upgrades for everything, don't know why this is complicated? I did the Grenada disc brake swap way...

    Dual master upgrade

I was thinking of a Willwood type setup not so much something for a newer car. Also not sure what bore size I have, there's no need to change that. The car stops just fine but I would like the safety of a dual master.

    Dual master upgrade

I have a 65 with stock power brakes and the Grenada front disc swap. I want to change to a dual master cylinder and would like to get one with a new booster. I can't seem to find anything that is a power to power upgrade, just manual to power upgrade. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

    65 Fender profile

I finally found a near perfect original right fender for my 65 Stang at a swap meet. It looks like it's never been hit, I stripped it to bare and no evidence of any collision repair. I put it on and the upper part above the sharp belt line where it meets the door is a good 1/4" flatter than the...

    Shelby Mirror Placement?

Given a choice I wouldn't have a vent window even if it wasn't a convertible. I don't tend to use them and I don't like the look of them. I thought about doing away with them until I saw the price of the replacement glass

    Shelby Mirror Placement?

    Ah yes, that too
