    I got to the valance side today, it may not be the way it looked like on the show room floor, but this is what suits my eye. Needs final finishing but you can see the gap I was aiming at, basically a spark plug gap :D

    Hold that thought, I've only done half of it, still need to do the valance side, it'll be a whole lot tighter than that :D I would have done it in one shot but my valance also has a cat's eye curve to it for some reason? :shrug:

    I haven't chewed into the other side yet so I'm not sure what it really looks like, this side looked fine until I started grinding all the filler out. I'm away for the weekend but I'll take some pics when I get back. Both quarters were replaced so my guess is the other side sucks too, we'll see.

    Thanks for those references. I don't recall ever getting a part that didn't need heavy modification to fit for any vehicle I've built. Actually replacement fenders for 1974 - 1987 Chev trucks are pretty good, I rebuilt one of those a while back and was pleasantly surprised.

    Well come on man, spill the beans on these good repro parts :D I do know what you mean about original parts being pretty brutal in their own right though. I have my share of issues with that too, but all the repro stuff I have ever got is genuinely terrible, to the point of ridiculous.

    I thought about doing that too, not sure at this point. One thing I'm not doing is putting in a 1/2" of filler to close the gap like the previous guy did :mad: Good to know I'm not alone with this mess

    Well that's good to know and disturbing as well. I really can't get over how bad everything they re-pop is. So it's the valance I shall add metal to not the quarter :nice: Thanks guys
