    1965 Convertible Driving Me Crazy

I think the first thing to start with is, do you have the electric pump on the same fuel line as the mechanical pump? If so I think you will have issues getting fuel to the mechanical pump when you kill the electric pump. The mechanical pumps don't have a lot of suction power so I think they...

    Lets talk steering

Welcome. The most likely culprit would be a worn out ball joint and if its knocking then you need to get it or them replaced immediately or you'll be in a ditch or worse when that thing comes apart. Other possibilities would be tie rods, control arm bushings (more like upper control arm bushing)...

    1968 Mustang Cold Starting Issue

That may be the knob for your air vent which is just left of the steering column under the dash. Is it a mechanical choke for sure? Electric or water temp type?

    1968 Mustang Cold Starting Issue

It sounds like a carb issue to me but I would first look at the choke adjustment and also look down in the carb before you start it and verify you are getting that squirt of gas when you push the throttle. Sounds like its not getting that priming. On that note I'm not trying to be condescending...

    NEED HELP!!!!

You say the car will start in "drive"? If that's the case then it is misadjusted, bad or misswired. It can be wired wrong though and shutting off your power to the coil. Depending on who wired it and how they wired it. I've seen some crazy wiring jobs and hacked up harnesses. Some switches also...

    Vehicle fumes

If it is actually the carb causing it, then yes rebuilding the carb would take care of that. It could just be gummed up so you might try adding some seafoam to your tank and see if it clears up after a tank or two. That stuff will clean up gummed up fuel systems pretty well. If you drive it...

    Vehicle fumes

I've seen carburetors where the float was either misadjusted or the float is not closing off completely and fuel will drip inside the carb for a while after being parked. you still have a slight pressure in the fuel line from the fuel pump to the carb and if the needle on the float is scratched...

A165 coupe bucks like a bull on launch

Welcome. Fluid level will not affect a stick in this manner. When you say "launch" do you mean just taking off from a stop or launch as when you are racing and popping the clutch? If it is only when taking off in first gear from a stop but is fine when you shift to second and other gears then...

Please help me Identify what this is for 65 exhaust manifold piece

Yeah its to heat up your choke. If you still have your original carb you'll see it on the choke housing. You should have 2 tubes. the other I think goes to the top rear of the carb? I've make new ones with brake lines and compression fittings. It doesn't really have any noticeable affects on the...

1966 left front brake locks up when I radio the brakes

Usually when a brake locks up that easily its due to brake fluid on the shoes, missadjustment or something loose or installed improperely in that assembly. The left front (drivers side) is the first one to get pressure (shortest distance from master Cylinder) if not bled properly. Did you bleed...

Can some tell me what these are?

They are courtesy lights. They come on when you open your doors. They mount to the bottom of your dash.

    Steering all over the place

Could be caster but it could be a combo of caster, camber and toe all being out. It could be the upper control arms are loose at the shock tower. If you don't have the capability of checking and adjusting these then I would find a reputable shop and tell them you want the "old guy" to work on...

Progress Thread 69 Cougar won't start

Ok we are narrowing it down. You could have a bad solenoid but I'm thinking it may be at you ignition switch. Of course you know there is a start position that connects that 12v to the coil for starting but when you let go of the key then the run position should maintain that 12v supply. It...

Progress Thread 69 Cougar won't start

A few quick things to check first. Are you getting a good strong spark at the plug? Solid 12v to the pos side of the coil? Are you sure you are getting plenty of fuel? Check your points to see if maybe they are loose and closed up on you.

    Temp Sensor 1971 Mustang 302

There are a couple tests to do to get you started in the right direction. First to intitially test for a ground you want to disconnect the wire from your sending unit. make sure it is not touching anything metal. start the car and see what it does. If the light comes on then you have eliminated...

Another new guy... (and seeking advice)

Seems like a pretty good price provided the undercarriage isn't in too bad of shape. Floorboards are pretty common rust area and rusted cowl vents which is what I would inspect for sure if its going to be subjected to rain. Run some water into the cowl and check for water getting into the...

Engine 1967 289 T5 Swap NO Crank after putting everything back in.

The reason I asked if the clutch operates freely is to determine if there is free movement of the throwout bearing and if the clutch feels as though it is operating freely. Next - Does the tranny push all the way up to the engine block by hand or are you having to draw it up with the bell...
