    Valve lock installation tool

Every post I've read about installing cams says that by far the worst part is installing the locks. Has anyone used this tool from comp cams?: I'm not sure if there would be enough clearance with the spring compression tool. I'd be willing to drop a few more dollars to save a few hours.

    exhaust popping

The cause of the sound is unburnt fuel lighting off in the exhaust pipe. As was said before, it is normal with after-market exhaust. Unless it is REALLY loud.

    piston to valve contact

Here is a great article on how to check PTV clearance. It would take quite some time, but will tell you very accurately what your clearance is. http://www.fordmuscle.com/fundamentals/pistontovalve/index.shtml

puttin some neon's (not the car :| )under driver side dash board?

You may find some LEDs at radio shack. Just to be sure, LEDs and neons are totally different things. Led's are "light emitting diodes", and the direction of flow of electricity through them is important. Although you may find 12V leds, most are not and will fry very quickly when powered by 12V...

    Knock when starting?

My truck started making knocking noises on startup and shut down. Turned out an exhaust bracket broke and slid down the pipe and jammed itself up against the frame.
