    Ok, please excuse my dismal ignorance, but how can the TV cable (that's the kickdown cable, right?) coming off cause enough damage to necesitate a rebuild of the tranny? Trying to find what was wrong, I did notice that my kickdown cable had come off. Thank you! Philippe

    Dude, we are saying the same thing :D If the slush box needs a rebuild, then I'll toss it and get a manual tranny in there. But if it's something simpler, cheaper then that to get it working, even if it's not perfect, then I'll try to last the summer.

    Lug nuts keep coming loose on one wheel

    3rd time now. Always the same wheel (front driver side). The first 2 times, the wheel had been put on by my mechanic. The last time, by me, and I VERY carefully torqued them to spec, following a star pattern. What could be causing this? Thank you! Philippe

    While on the subject, what's a good brand for gears? I was thinking FRPP. I don't race the car. Just the occasionnal excitement at the red light.

    No, the gears had already been changed when I bought the car September 2002, about 20K miles ago. I was considering changing them anyway as part of swapping in a T5. Sounds like a really good idea now. The car was in storage during the winter. Wonder if it goofed up the fluid. :shrug...
