    302 heads on a 289

That will be fine. That is all I am planning on doing is cruising. No hot rodding. Been there done that. I wonder if I will still need to add a lead aditive to the fuel with these heads being 73 heads? Are the push rods the same? I had one bent push rod (the reason for checking the heads).

    302 heads on a 289

Is that a good thing? I am just not up on the compression. What does the lower compression mean for me? By the way, thanks for the reply. John

    302 heads on a 289

I was checking my push rods, rockers and springs on my number matching 289and by one of the rockers and spring there is a 302 on the head. So looks like I have 302 heads on my 289. Is there an advantage to this? There is also this on the heads-B-A and 3K4. Thanks, John

I made a little problem for myself and need help

I was replacing my engine oil dip stick tube and it broke off on the block. I tried to pry it up but broke off even with the hole. So I took a sharp punch and bent in one side so I could get a hold of it with some long nose plyers. Did not go so well. The broke off part fell into the oil pan. My...

Installing new Fel-Pro intake gasket on my 289 engine

Yes, I have heard that most of the professionals do not even use the end seals but just use RTV (I think that is what it is called) on the ends then let it set up till it does not stick to fingures and ready to go. So it really makes no difference which end of the gasket is up?

Installing new Fel-Pro intake gasket on my 289 engine

I got my new gasket set (Fel-Pro) to install my OE intake manifold back on my 65 289 engine but I thought it would show which side goes up and which side goes down. Like "this side up" but does not show that. How do you know which side goes up> or does it make a difference? Thanks, John

I am having my intake manifold off of my 65 C-Code 289 blasted and then painted but would like to know the proper way to install back on the engine so will not have any leaks. I have heard you do not want to install the rubber ends but use RTV instead? Do you put this around all the openings...
