    75 Mustang Oil Pan

Hey Cobra, Thanks for the detailed procedure. Hopefully I can get to it soon! Doesn't sound too terribly difficult.

    75 Mustang Oil Pan

How is the oil pan removed on a 1975 2.3L in order to replace the gasket? I have an oil leak that appears to be coming from the back of the pan.

    Wiper Transmission Linkage Bushings

I know this is not in the correct forum but I did not receive an answer so I thought I'd come back here and ask some of the experts. I have a 1975 Mustang 2 (I know, ewwwwww!) and the wiper arms are really herky-jerky. I haven't looked yet but am assuming the transmission linkage bushings are...

    2.3 L Oil Seal Replacement

For a 1975 Mustang ll...Does the engine need to be removed from the car to replace the front and rear main oil seals?

    1975 2.3L oil seal gone

I have a 1975 Mustang ll with the 2.3L automatic. It appears the rear main seal is going as I'm leaking more and more oil every day. How hard is this job to do? I assume the engine has to be at the very least lifted if not removed. How much would the job cost?

    High Speed Vibration Noise

Thanks, but the noise was there before the tires were purchased.

    High Speed Vibration Noise

Thanks guys. The tires are brand new with alignment last week...didn't make much of a difference in the problem. I'll have the other things checked. Appreciated!

    High Speed Vibration Noise

I have a 1975 model with a 2.3 liter automatic. At speeds over 60 MPH I'm experiencing a noise similar to this: vrump...vrump...vrump along with steady vibration. It sounds like engine but feels more like tranny. I know the tranny was swapped at one time. Is it possible that the drive shaft...

Removing Column Lock Cylinder 72 Mustang

Thanks...I'll try the procedure today. Once I do get the cylinder out could it be repaired? If not, and I buy a new cylinder could a locksmith key it the same as the doors? I'd hate to have to replace those too.

Removing Column Lock Cylinder 72 Mustang

Would someone please provide a detailed step-by-step procedure on how to remove the column lock (key) cylinder on a 72 mustang? Keys are stuck and the cylinder will not rotate back to the "off" position for removal. Thanks!

    72 302 Won't Start

Woodsnake, the 800.00 is for a complete rebuild of the engine which is what I thought was a pretty good price, depending on what he's going to do. I've emailed him for details but he has not replied yet. DHearne, when bumping the starter the rotor points to the "1" on the cap. Thanks for the...

    72 302 Won't Start

Thanks...I'll try removing the spark plug and doing that test. The engine cranks easily with no hesitation so it appears all connections and the starter are good. As far as having the timing chain or belt replaced I don't know. It hasn't been done in the last 11 years which is how long I've had...

    72 302 Won't Start

Well, I bumped the starter and the rotor does point to the number 1 plug. Can't see the other numbers so I don't know if I'm at 0 TDC. Sprayed starting fluid into the carb which didn't help...not even a sputter. I checked and did have good spark to the plugs so we must be back to the timing...

    72 302 Won't Start

After cranking the car for about 15 seconds I did get a "poof" out of the carburetor. The points are set to .017...and I did double-check them. The car last ran about 6 months ago and although it was a bit rough it was driveable.

    72 302 Won't Start

Thank you I'll try that. By the way, if it is a bad distributor will one from a 289 work as a replacement?

    72 302 Won't Start

Replaced plugs, wires, cap, rotor, points and condenser. Good spark from coil to block and plenty of fuel. Car cranks but will not fire. I am suspecting a bad distributor? Any other checks I can make? I do know that when the car was running I could advance the distributor by hand and there was...

    72 Mustang New Quarters?

Have rust above the wheel well on both sides, worse on the P side. I'm sure the best way way to repair is to go with new quarter panels but are skins just as effective? The rest of the car is rock solid.
