    That's what I thought before I replaced the covers, and I tightened up the header bolts, but my plan was to torque them tomorrow. The Chilton's manual says 18-24 ft-lbs so I was going to do 21 and see if I got anymore noise.

    Had it since Feb 07 and have put less than $1000 into it haha. New tires, CAI, fan clutch, x pipe. I need to replace the valve cover gaskets before I put any more go-fast parts on.

    Do you have an alarm on the car? I've got an old Viper on mine that works when it wants to and if I'm storing the car for a while, I've got to disconnect the battery or the alarm will drain it.

    I would agree with that, and I certainly found that discrepancy when I bought my 97GT. A guy out west I knew had the same car for about 2k less as you said. But, for a 90 with over 100k, I still think 5500 is high regardless of the location.

    Okay, thanks for the replies. My plan was to find some rubber tubing to make the splice, the heatshrink is a good idea, I hadn't thought of that. They're capped off right now and the car is running fine, but I'll rig that stuff up. Do the spark plug holders just snap onto the valve cover bolts?
