Window Switch RPM vs. Shift RPM???

This is a question for guys running nitrous and a window switch. What is your window switch's rpms set at, and what rpm do you shift at? For example. The stock rev limiter is 6050 rpm. I would imagine that you would set your window switch to something like 3000 rpm and 6000 rpm. However...

BFG DR 295/35/18 on 9" Roush Wheels

I have Sumitomo 285's on my 18x9's and they fit fine with plenty of room for more tire. I would be willing to say that a 295, atleast in Sumitomo, would fit just fine. The question is if the BFG's run big, size for size, compared to the Sumitomos. If they are the same you should be fine.

    Eaton Differential Case Made overseas!

Bottom Line, what matters to me is quality. If the foreign part is better I buy it. If the American made part is better I buy it. I really don't give a rat's a$$ where it is made. I prefer to buy the best when I can afford it. If that means it was made over seas, then so be it. When...

Everything you wanted to know about Exhaust

Sorry for another long explanation ;), but I think most people get restrictive backpressure confused with header tuning and exhaust velocity. I thought I would add my $0.02 again. Backpressure caused by restriction decrease power because the engine has problem forcing the exhaust gases out...

    Sunoco GT Race Fuel???

I have just never seen a public gas station offer 100 octane fuel before. I live in Gainesville, FL and this station is on the way to the track. This is the track that they have the Gator Nationals at. Maybe they just though it would be worth putting the reace fuel pump in due to the track...

    Sunoco GT Race Fuel???

A Sunoco gasoline station just opened up by my house, and I noticed on the sign that they have a type called GT Race Fuel. I have not stopped in to check it out yet, but does anyone know if this the same as their 100 octane GT Race fuel (http://www.racegas.com/gt100locals/) I have no need...

    Eaton Differential Case Made overseas!

 I will remember that when the Auburn Pro falls apart on you because they have a habit of that. By the way how do you know for sure that every part of that Auburn is made in the USA? Acutally, your mustang was mostly made and put together in Mexico.

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

I can't tell with my 4.10's. I like driving the car so much now that I cannot keep my foot out of the pedal, and that leads to worse gas milage

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

Well, does an engine work harder with 4.10's or 3.27's. That is a tough one. I would say that it in the end it stays the same. In theory the 4.10's would reduce the load seen by the engine. You are getting a mecahnical advantage with the gears, and that is going to give you more torque at...

    Lowering Question

That is called camber. Camber measures the amount the tire's TOP is angled in. Toe measures the amount the tire's FRONT is angled in. i.e. Toe in front of car / \ | | rear of car

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

A lot of years of listening to others, a lot of years of college both learning and doing (I will not even say how many ;)), and a lot of time and effort thinking about it and researching this stuff.

01 Cobra, Bullit or Mach 1

I would say get the car you want for power, styling, and comfort. Do not worry about the handling. The handling part can be fixed with a set of $150-$250 aftermarket springs. When I got my GT the first mod I did was put on a set of $150 FMS "C" springs. It was like I got a completely new...

01 Cobra, Bullit or Mach 1

So true. I used to love driving way to fast down winding country roads when I had my old 4 cylinder. It took a lot of effort to get that thing up to 85 mph. I used to be an idiot when I was young with the car. Then I bought my GT. The most I do now in it is some spirited driving. I was...

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

Glad I could help. I just know that a lot of people were very confused about gears. When I first started I did not really know either. As I saw more and more conflicting info over the years I decided to figure all this stuff out once and for all. Now I left a lot of stuff out, but the stuff...

whats a really good 60' on stock goodyears?

Average is around 2.1. A good 60' would be 2.0 and below. I have seen 1.9x 60's on stock tires, but it usually requires a great driver and a great track. Don't expect those kind of times by going on a crowed Friday night test and tune. Get a good sticky track, and a lot of practice you can...

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

I left this part out, and maybe I should include it for clarification. The power lost to the inertia is in addition to the power lost to the gear train's friciton/effecience. Power(dyno) = Power(engine) – Power(driveline inertia) - Power(driveline fricition) Power(driveline fricition) is...

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

The dyno only uses the exact tranny and rear end gearing to convert the dyno's drum speed to rpm. From what I have heard the dyno does estimate the power lost to inertia, but I do not know that for sure. It is just what I have heard. Any ways, if they do it, it is just an estimate since it...

Everything you ever wanted to know about gears

We are only talking a few rwhp. Maybe 3-5 rwhp, but I would not worry about it. The benefits of the increased average power greatly out ways this little loss.
