FMS mechanical temp gauge comes with wrong fittings??!!?

I think the stat was just starting to open, generating the pressure without much waterflow...which is why the hose was cold. I should have treated it as a hot motor. :)

    Starts then stalls?

I agree. Clean throttle body and change oil. Believe it or not...every time I notice that starting to happen with my car I change the oil...and it never does it again until the oil gets dirty. I can't say why that is...but it worked for my 5.0 it can work for yours. (I assume you have a good cap...

    Exhaust..two questions

Man my full exhaust added GOBS of power. It revs to 6000 now when it really hated going above 3000 before. It was a little doggy before and it is hard to drive slow now. Go advance your timing and tune it up. Disconnect battery for 1/2 hour to get the computer to learn your set up from...

Fuel Pressure gauge on scrader valve did not open valve

What is the pressure reading with the key on, motor off vs. motor on. I wanted to know if I'm in the ball park when I get it on there again tomorrow without the valve this time. Think I should use teflon on the valve threads? Directions have me using teflon on all the fittings but that one...

FMS mechanical temp gauge comes with wrong fittings??!!?

I knew you would say that...but the car ran for at most from a dead cold 1 minute or so. The thermostat did not open (the rad hose was cool to the touch) I assumed the mounting adapter was wrong and let the sensor go in too deely causing a blockage...I was looking for coolant flow. I...

FMS mechanical temp gauge comes with wrong fittings??!!?

Update So I had finished the project last Thursday night as I planned, except fot the mounting of the temp sensor since they include a 1/2" mounting adapter for a 5.0 with a 3/8" opening. So As I mentioned earlier I could not find one in the home stores and ordered one overnight from Downs...

Fuel Pressure gauge on scrader valve did not open valve

It's permanent...and the directions say: "This gauge kit does not require the removal of the internal valve inside the service port. The special adapter fitting attaches directly to the port and will automatically actuate the valve". I see the pin. It is not long enough I guess. I...

Where is the fuel pressure schrader valve located?

I does help. But a question: On the 2nd photo the gauge seems too close to the Distributer to be a gauge on the schrader valve...is your gauge plumed in the line somewhere else? thanks for the pics appreciate it.

FMS mechanical temp gauge comes with wrong fittings??!!?

Got one from Downs Ford. The shipping will cost as much as the gas would have been... I went to the 2 big home stores and my hometown hardware store and could not find a fitting in 3/8 with a lip to accept the sensor. Thanks
