    I think the stat was just starting to open, generating the pressure without much waterflow...which is why the hose was cold. :rolleyes: I should have treated it as a hot motor. :)

    clutch slipping??

    Clutch slip test: set parking brake and slowly let out the clutch in first gear all the way and the car should stall immediatly. If it continues to run even for a second after the clutch is up= slipping.

    Update So I had finished the project last Thursday night as I planned, except fot the mounting of the temp sensor since they include a 1/2" mounting adapter for a 5.0 with a 3/8" opening. So As I mentioned earlier I could not find one in the home stores and ordered one overnight from Downs...

    I was thinking of installing a FP gauge in the valve. Has anyone done this? The a gauge is inexpensive and I was wondering id you can see it well enough when it's installed... anyway, where do I look for the schrader valve exactly?

    Got one from Downs Ford. The shipping will cost as much as the gas would have been... I went to the 2 big home stores and my hometown hardware store and could not find a fitting in 3/8 with a lip to accept the sensor. Thanks
