    Update on the body work

Yes, sorry. Had a brain fart there. I was just saying that buying the bigger panels can save you time and money in the long run. The floor pans were just an example. Sorry again for the confusion

    Update on the body work

New shell????? Wow... I did all my own panels, patches, repair work, scrubbing, sanding, welding, knuckle busting, bleeding, caught on fire once (stupid is, is stupid does), learned a ton about welding, and then tearing things out and welding again. Just a few tips from a very novice welder...

    Salvage yard H-Pipe for conversion?

It would be fun, but here in Colorado, they ain't that cool. My sister works for the Police Dept and she said I would be pulled over instantly??? I think I will just disconnect the driveshaft and do the two wheel dolly thing... $40 per day beats $300+ any day.

    Salvage yard H-Pipe for conversion?

No worries. I have to have the shop put the whole thing together, make an H Pipe, intermediate to muffler, and connect my Flowmaster tail extensions. All new installation. The said it would not be more than $375. Why I am choking on the deal is that the Flatbed tow will be close to $300 for...

    Fabricating/Welding Exhaust

I think I might try to do this myself. I just found out how much the flatbed tow will be; yikes. I could buy all the parts for less than half of the tow itself. Hummmm? I am pretty good at welding... decision made... it can't be all that tough :rlaugh:

    Salvage yard H-Pipe for conversion?

Does anyone know of an H-pipe that would fit my set up I could pull from a salvage yard? I have the 5.0, w/ Heddman shorties, power steering, and the AOD. I would love to find one that fit, or came darn close. The real question is whether any cars came with 2 1/2" pipes? Anyone have the...

    Fabricating/Welding Exhaust

Sorry to hi-jack: This is the tread I was just about to post... sort of. I have the exact same setup; Heddman shorties, AOD issue, with the Flowmaster over the axle tailpipes. I was going to try and do it myself but I called around for a good shop and they said ~$350 for the install with...

    Inside Doors - Body color?

My Jams will be the color of the exterior in blue, but the side to the inside of the door gasket is the color of the rest of the interior; gray. I think it looks great. JMO

    Seats

Watch out for seats on Ebay. A friend of mine bought some off ebay from some "dealer" out of the south. When he opened the box he nearly passed out from the smell. Remember the big weather event down there? Well all those interiors of all those flooded cars are showing up on Ebay. :nono:

    Painting the Dash

I hope it will look good overall. The exterior base will be Lexus Blue with Bright White stripes. I think it will look cool. Anyway, if you have any direct questions, PM me. Later

    Painting the Dash

Yup. I tried the same "paint" that Edbert used. (love his project) It was very expensive, did not cover real well and the color "depth" just did not look that great to me. Almost like it went on looking sun faded??? I don't know, I stripped it all off. (FYI- use a green scrubby with some...

    Painting the Dash

I lied... oops... I moved over the holidays and just now pulled the box of paint out and the paint is the Dupli-Color Gunmetal Gray #T177. It looks so much better in real life. The pics just don't show the true color. I used the Dupli-Color High Temp Engine Clear as the top coat. I did the...

    Painting the Dash

I painted it last year and it is just like brand new today. It is not that glossy. I will take a picture this afternoon when I get home and post it.

    Quick Granada swap Q...

I did mine by building on the car, which I am pretty sure is the correct way to do it. (I've never seen it done the other way???) I did all new brake lines, so that took some time. Keep in mind that the Granada brake lines from the brake caliper faces forward so you will need to flip/rebend...

    Painting the Dash

I did mine with Plasticoat. I did four coats of base, then hit it with a clear Hi Temp coat. Left it out in the sun and it baked on real nice. It is all about prep work. I sanded the entire dash to bare metal, used the Por-15 metal prep solution (any type will work I'm sure), laid down a...

    Next stop paint shop

Is that the Cobra Automotive front end? If so, how did it fit for you? Looks like you have done a ton of work to it. Mine is pretty darn close, except above one of the light buckets (too thin- so it looks warped) Also, is that a fiberglass hood? If so how did it fit and where did you pick...
