    Ford Racing Exhaust Options?

Deep down I think want to try the Roush Axel backs more than the Ford Racing Borla sports. Again, listening to video clips doesn't always convey what a muffler really sounds like. I love the X pipe and the high pitched exhaust note. As long as I get that I'm good with loud. Thanks for your reply.

    Ford Racing Exhaust Options?

I'm enjoying my base 2016 Mustang GT with the resonantor delete and stock muffler. Love the X-pipe exhaust note, but I would like it louder. I understand Borla makes the Ford Racing Sport and Touring mufflers. I've been looking at the Roush Axel backs, but I think that may be too loud. So, would...

Who Has An Oil Separator? Worth It?

I installed the UPR brand. Easy 5 minute install and every two weeks I check it and dump out about 1 teaspoon of oil. As you said cheap insurance.

Thanks 15COPP. I decided to remove the 5.0 plenum cover. I like the cleaner look and it will dissipate heat better.

Very little difference in ride quality at all. The ford racing street springs are progressive so a smooth ride then they stiffen as you get into hard cornering. Add the strut tower brace and the k brace and the front end tightens up. I'm planning to add the Steeda rear sway bar to finish it out...

2 weeks and 250 miles later just about 1 teaspoon of oil in the UPR oil catch can.

Ok - unscientific impressions: Throttle response - 50% better Exhaust note - deeper and outside temp warmer than yesterday No more stumble around 2500 rpms when motor is warning up. Acceleration- better. Stayed with my normal hard acceleration mode and it does pull harder thru out the rpm...

Added the K&N drop in air filter. Had really good results with them on other rides as far as better mileage and throttle response. Plus it's a life time filter. I'll update you on results.

Added the Steeda K frame brace yesterday. With this and the strut tower brace and lowering springs equals a noticeable tighter handling in the curves. Install was 15 minutes.

Just added the 2 1/8" Ford Racing shift knob and adapter. It's a big improvement over stock.

    Back To It...

FYI- just weighed the stock base GT springs at 28.5 lbs and the FR street springs come in at 38.2 lbs and they are stout vs the stockers. Given the resonantor delete is 23 lbs and the FR X-pipe is 8 lbs so that is 15 lbs savings. So the spring difference is 9.7 lbs heavier but you still save 5.3...

    Back To It...

Had FR street lowering springs installed as well as the resonantor delete done on the car on Christmas Eve. The springs have dropped it 3/4". Normally takes a week or more to get them totally lowered. Driving impressions just a little bit stiffer. However, throw into some tight curves and wow...

    Back To It...

Just purchased a deep impact blue GT and love it. Talk about some upgrades from my old 2005 4.6 GT, wow! Starting out with the Ford X-pipe delete kit and keeping the stock mufflers on my 2016. I'm going to stay with the warranty for awhile rather than doing a Bama tune. Just read that Ford...

Thanks for the info. Of course the other option is to keep my GT and add a Whipple SC and reinforce the internals and put in a new tranny. :D Thanks, Dewman

    Trading Car in need advice

Looks like I'm going to be able to purchase a 2008 Shelby GT500 in the next 3months :jaw: . I'll need to get the most $$ out of my 2005 Mustang GT to do it. One of the big dealer ships has 3 Shelbys coups at 45K to 47K, and with cash I can negoiate it down. Btw - just turn 20K miles on the...
