    Electric fan vs mechanical

Probably 50resto is the cheapest. $45 for the main (OE Ford) $20 sides $5 for hardware You may want to invest in an Autometer temp coolant gauge (mechanical gets my vote) for assurance, but if the rest of your cooling setup is working you won't be overheating with the stock stuff on that build.

    Electric fan vs mechanical

Is your radiator air deflector still intact? Do most of the fins still look good on your rad? I agree with Rick about the stock setup. I'll add that there's nothing wrong efficiency wise with the stock 3-row copper rad. Used to have supposedly the best electric fan controller you can get...

California specific exhaust ok on non-Cali 5.0?

So got this response from Magnaflow. Maryland Stang is correct about the cats. Hello Magnaflow part 93332 used to only contain two converter but has since been redesign to have four. Thank you for contacting Magnaflow. It's $499 at Summit, I'm sure the picture is simply the old one there...

what is the ideal engine temperature?

Thanks 5L5. I probably should change it, and let the gas combust better, maybe get a couple more MPG.

California specific exhaust ok on non-Cali 5.0?

On Magnaflow's website the 93332 is shown as a 4-cat system, that's another reason of my initial confusion (why would they have two 4-cat SS X-Pipe systems, unless the Cali car was somehow different). We have smog cops here who do visual checks to see if you have the 4-cat midpipe, so kind of...

what is the ideal engine temperature?

Sorry to highjack, but thread made me think of it I have a 180* thermostat and my car runs under 190 all day (Autometer Mech gauge). Would it be more efficient if I switched back to the stock 192* t-stat? I thought with iron heads the ideal operating range was 195-210...

California specific exhaust ok on non-Cali 5.0?

Hey guys, buying a Magnaflow X-Pipe. I can order a #37338 X-Pipe (California spec) for $75 cheaper than the #93332 (49-State/Canada). Need to ask this, because the VWs I've driven had specific ECM and fuel/emission systems in the 80s/90s for California cars. Did the Cali Mustangs get specific...

    Clutch cable Question.....

I hear what you're saying Prime Lord, simplicity is often the best course. You've got the $70dollar universal OEM cable, not the $140 5.0L OEM cable correct?

    beating a dead horse again

As NikwoaC suggested search for a WC T-5, which is more likely to be found anyways as all V8 trannies are 'WC' from 1985 on. There is a misconception that all WC T-5s are stronger than the NWC units. 85-89 WCs have the same torque rating 265 lb/ft, as 83,84 NWC units. In 1990 the tranny was...

    beating a dead horse again

While I can't answer your question about thrust bearing pressures, having driven with a 4cyl t5 for two years I can give you some perspective. - What gearing do you have? With 4.10s my first gear was literally non-existant, as the 4cyl tranny already has a numerically higher first gear ratio...

    Clutch cable Question.....

Figured I'd revive this thread as my questions are similar to the OPs. I did a search and a lot of people recommend the UPR Triple Hook and FWA. Has anyone purchased the MM kit and preferred UPRs Quad/FWA over MMs? Anybody have a problem with the universal OEM cable, and end up paying $150...

    5-lug bolts, and misc pieces.

Lol, I just discovered that myself. Our 91 VW blew the rear lines this weekend. Refused to pay $53 a side from VW for a foot and a half of steel line. Ended up forming lines out of the generic straight line.

    5-lug bolts, and misc pieces.

I ordered these adapters from 50resto. According to the brake upgrade pages and 50restos description, I believe they should be correct for that purpose. If not, I'm gonna have to rethink things, as SN95 stangs are a rarity in the boneyards. Not to mention the odd V6 that winds up would...

    5-lug bolts, and misc pieces.

Thanks Mustang 5L5 I found a banjo bolt in a set of scrap 94 calipers in my garage. According to my electronic measuring caliper, the diameter is .393" (= 10mm) and not 3/8" (.375") contradicting your thoughts. However, Breeze also carries 3/8-24x1" banjo bolts and the description says for...

where should i set my timing at?

Don't forget what octane grade you want to fill up with. Try 14* with 87octane, but a hot climate or high altitudes can factor into pinging as well.

    5-lug bolts, and misc pieces.

Please anyone :( Especially need to know the correct size banjo bolts to get for the 94-98 gt/v6 style rear calipers.

    5-lug bolts, and misc pieces.

Now before someone directs me to check out mjobbit's site, please read my thread. I have been acquiring used parts here and there for my 5-lug conversion, and either don't have or have badly rusted attachment hardware. I've sent a couple emails to Breeze Automotive asking what I need...

    Gauge install, hose questions

Thanks for the detailed process J. I'll hold off on the fuel gauge until the pump needs upgrading, and the tank gets dropped for that. More want to use the third hole in my pod, than worrying about running out of gas (keep track on the trip odom anyways). The links for the line kits I posted...

    h/x pipe options with emissions

True that, at least when you're busy you're not spending money :D 100% stock is the best time to plan a direction for the car, before the mods begin. i.e. If you want headers you'll be paying even more for labor doing it at a separate time from the mids. Squeeze those into your budget now and...
