    Not necessarily. The last leak I had the only black mark I had was between the header flange and the gasket. I didn't see any black marks on the header until I removed it. The header is shiney too so it would have stood out more. Riley Posted via Mobile Device

    Only ticking under load really sounds like an exhaust leak.. You probably have a leak at the manifold. You could also try unplugging the injectors one at a time an see if the tick is still there.. Then you will know which cylinder it's coming from. As for the Mobile1 Extended Performance...

    My '02 GT has had the same starting problem since new. Sometimes it takes two or three tries to get it started. Sometimes it will sputter and die on the first or second attempt. On the third it will lazily start like it's running on 4 cylinders and be fine after it goes past 1000 rpm.. :shrug...

    Yes, ford does make a steel tensioner - I have one on my car. It is the "revised" model from the aluminum one. I bought one from Randy when he was still in business. Prepare to spend about $150 though. Riley
