    Drive Shaft Length

    I just talked to 2 other drivetrain specialists. They both told me 1 - 1 1/2" is best. Not any shorter. So I am returning the short driveshaft and hopefully getting the longer one about the time I finish the radiator!

    The old body is tired. I put 12 hours in yesterday. I have the TKO 600 5 speed. I really wanted a 6 speed, but was told that it would not handle as much HP. I am already pushing the limit as it is.

    I was told by the local company that made the driveshaft, that since it has the 6" long TKO input yoke, that pulling it out 2" was "OK". I was not convinced with his statement. And 2" seems to like a lot. Just wondered if anybody else knew for sure.

    I have question about drive shaft length. My drive shaft goes in to the TKO 600 about 6". I have to pull it back about 2"- 2 1/4" to connect it to the pumpkin leaving about 3 3/4"-4" in the trans. Is that enough, or is that not enough?
