    Issue with DCC FK35

I am unclear about a few things and trying to understand. 1. The power wiring that runs from the FK35 to the battery is of what gauge? 10awg or 12awg? 2. Current ratings of wire sizes I found are as follows: 10 awg = capable of 33 amps which would use 30 amp fuse or link 12 awg...

    Issue with DCC FK35

I double checked all of my wiring and connections this evening to the fan and controller. All is OK with it. Nothing is shorted to ground and nothing is being pinched. What is left for me to do now is remove the inline fuse and replace with the fusible link and pay extra special attention to the...

No need to send the fusible link. I will get another one and verify and double check all connections are good. Then I will see if I have any further issues. Like I said..nothing changed and I just started having this issue. Hopefully all will be OK. Thanks for your help and I will let you...

    Issue with DCC FK35

using a bigger inline fuse would greatly help out if I do have some other issue with why the fusible link melted. I don't want to keep cutting out and splicing in links. Is using a bigger fuse at all an option?

    Issue with DCC FK35

OK..so i need to splice in a 14awg link to replace inline fuse. 1. Any thoughts on why it may have burned to begin with? Or why when connected directly to battery the fan still did not turn on? 2. Can't I just use a bigger fuse than the 30 instead of the link?

    Issue with DCC FK35

How so? A current spike from the alternator should have protected the controller via the fusible link supplied with the controller kit, correct?

    Issue with DCC FK35

The link overheated and melted. I then replaced it with a 30 amp inline fuse that lasted about 20 minutes till the fuse popped. Only the high speed is connected. What I did notice is that after the fusible link melted (b4 replacing with inline fuse) I was far away from home...So I connected...

    Issue with DCC FK35

I did purchase from him. I suppose I will send him an email. Does anyone know how much current a Taurus fan draws on initial startup (high speed) without the use of the dccontroller? Also how much current the fan draws at max running speed?

    Issue with DCC FK35

All of a sudden I am now burning up the fusible link when driving that goes to the controller. All wiring appears to be OK. I have had the unit installed for about 8 months. This is controlling an brand new Motorcraft Taurus fan. Could the controller be spiking or at fault?
