get one of those things doctors use when they listen to your heart and lungs...forget what those dang things are called...stethescope?... but we used them in autoshop to listen to the engine.
(just got back from the DSS site)
grab the low compression setup...that will allow you to run boost later. :nice:
as for cam, grab one when you get heads  wonder way DSS doesn't provide a cam.
i suggest checkin out the stangnet chat to get some of your questions answered. also do a search on stangnet for some of your questions.
as for installing the cam with the motor in the car....you need to have the radiator removed...even then its probably going to be a pain...
whats the...
summit says my car comes stock with a 10" flywheel, and to use these 10.5" clutches i need a 10.5" flywheel, i've never heard this anywhere else..but it makes sense... is this true?
well bbk is the only set of springs i've seen that even make specific rate so i'm going to assume you mean those. i have specific on my car...i was under the impression specific rate meant a specific drop while progressive rate didn't. though that explaination finally clears this all up for me...
without reading the rest of the replies, i'm going to say your clutch could be slipping. my car will do the same it will pull hard slip for a bit to where it feels dead and then grab again at 4k-ish.
the trick flow h/c/i package is only 2,050 bucks in summit. and they claim about 350 hp with a new maf and tb. thats cheaper then the old system max 2 setup.
i'm trying to fix this gas mileage issue i have. im getting 180 miles to the tank, 3.08 gears. i'm going to pop in some new o2's as well as clean this maf sensor. what would you guys recommend i use on it? carb cleaner?
bone stock they dynoed it at 364 rwhp, with a hypertech tuner they got 407 rwhp, and then a 2.8inch pulley put them at 427 rwhp. thats without exhaust work.
thats pretty sick :nice: :hail2:
man you guys are running 12's with that combo... putting down about 300 hp to the ground, thats what 100+ hp over stock, thats pretty bad ass. you can't even supercharge a stock stang and put down those numbers for that price. :nice:
i run 89 on 16* timing.... i could probably run 87 on her, but i noticed i get horrible gas mileage on 87. and i can get about 15-20 more miles on 93....89 being in the middle.... its kinda odd. then again getting 180 miles to a tank on a stock motor isn't great....
the air silencer is under the right side fenderwell....and my cold air intake makes a similar sound you are discribing, i have the chrome bbk fenderwell cold air intake.... if i rev or accellerate you can hear it make a sucking sound.
i had no dumps on my flows for about 2 years, just about 2 inch of pipe running from them in the rear, maybe less then that....never saw any axle issues.
