Value of an original 64 1/2 coupe

mca gold in the concours class is 95 points for a driver, and 97 points for a trailered car. even as a driver, that car is in the neighborhood of $27,000 now. the unrestored, thorobred cars are fetching a good buck to the right person. (im looking for a clean 67-68 coupe shell...)

    Body filler

i like rage, and rage gold... (the gold has a small ammount of zinc in it) the both sand really easily, if you catch them before the fully harden, and neither of them pinhole to much. the biggest thing to remember about any filler, is not to apply over 1/4 inch thick, and to have a properly...

thats the only gripe i have with the TTII rims, the center cap has to come off any time you put a socket on the lugs, ive tried snap on, mac, etc... the only thing i havent tried is relieving the center caps slightly where the socket hits.

Shelby Bullet Mirrors on a '65 Coupe???

ZO6, ive never noticed the r model mirrors on your car, did you have to alter the bases to fit in the recess of the door properly? i couldnt get them to look right on mine, so i discarded the base, and used a 1/4" nylon washer under the mirror...

Tips for keeping overspray out of cowl?

i took a look at the images at photobucket, and your work looks really nice. i can see why you want to keep the cowl as clean as possible. BUT... the truth is, now that it is sealed up, theres virtually no way to mask it off. You could perhaps feed 2" tape, sticky side up from the first slot to...

    Replacing the 302 with a roller 351W

water pump, and timing cover, if you want to keep the v belt setup, then you will need the alternator bracket that mounts to the head. the last photo on my cardomain page shows a good shot of a mid 80's 351 dressed in a v belt setup. my water pump, however was a std. rotation item, used on the...

    Alt. 1st & 2nd gears in a C4?

a properly preped aod will handle all the torque you can throw at it...the key, in your application will be the input shaft. a good aftermarket input, along with a '91 core (best of the aod direct clutch drum) added frictions, and a mechanical diode to replace the sprag, will give you a real...

    Gutting my coupe... how far?

you are going to want to brace the unibody befre you start cutting. ive used the rear window regulator attaching points, along with the lower door hinge mount. get a piece of 1" tubing and a piece of 3/4" allthread with nuts.with one nut welded onto the tubing, it makes a dandy screw jack that...

    Driveshaft Safety Loop

i have the o.e. shelby style, and feel that though it is a pretty lightweight piece, it would be effective in case of U joint failure. it mounts to the seatbelt bolts, (uses longer seatbelt bolts, along with a pair of tubular spacers.) and is situated in the center of the driveshaft, more or...

Will the 65 Shelby Dash Pod fit in a 66 ?

i also used the pod from branda in my 65... i fastened it with 2 oval head sheetmetal screws with trim washers on top, and across the bottom i fabbed a stiffening strap from 20 gauge sheetmetal 1/2" wide, to pull the lower edge of the pod up tight. this is then screwed down with the same type...
