Hey guys.
K.. this is retarded, but i'd thought i'd ask. I finally got the 66 ready and was mounting the tt2 17" rims on the car. But with the center caps on, my skiniest 12pt socket its the center cap and wont allow me to torque the wheels down. (i can,but will scratch up cap).

Is anybody using some sort of special socket to get these things on/off? really dont want to keep taking the center cap off all the time.

Thought i'd ask. Heading out with the kids, so will hit up the tool store hopefully on monday to see what they have.

thanks for the input!

Hey guys,
was going to start another post, but see i got some big names here (dodgestang, chromedog, Iskwezm). Love your rides, and did a lot of research on them do go with my bs for the rims and stance.

So heres the new problem.lol.

Am going thru the process of doing a home alignment to test drive car before i take it to alignment shop. Front is your 1" shebly drop, 620s (1/3 coil cut for now) all new parts/bushings. Rear is new standard leafs but with 1.25" lowering blocks from NPD (receipt say 1", but they are 1 1/4 in height..? is that right?) .

I went big with the 255/40/17 bfgood sports on 4.75" bs on the 17x8 tt2 for the rear. Set car down , and the rear hits the very front inner corner of the inner fender. I know they saw to hit it with a hammer (even in mustang plus's catalogue), but i'm not sure i'll be able to 'message' it enough to have clearance for wheel/tire travel. It seems to be pretty solid, other then the lower piece, which can be easy bent.

dodgestang, your running a 5 mideye rear leaf. what does that equal in terms of " of a drop. Did you have to do any 'messaging' to ensure tire clearance?

Iskwezm. (not sure if i can even pronounce that). I know your running a wider tire, but did you use any 1/4 or 7/32" spacer to give you a little more room for the wider tire? or did you message it big time?

Options are, going crazy with 5lbs hammer (will try), trying a 1" block drop (love where the 1.25 sits), or buying some 1/4 or 7/32 spacers. Will mount the wheel again and see if i can get away with the smallest spacer. Love how it sits just a little in from the fender. Prefer not to lose that. Although I can get spacer/blocks through my parts counter no problem, but wanted to see what you guys did.

would post pics, but my wife took my camera to her mexico trip with her.

thanks!

Does it hit on both sides? Are you sure you are centered properly?

On my car my driver side wheel well measures a full inch smaller than the passenger side wheel well. Because of this I run a small 1/8 spacer on the passenger side to make everything look visually the same. I don't need it but it is an 'appearance' thing. When I put the 275 on for the track however I have to use the spacer otherwise my passenger side will drag on the inner wheel well.

say I-squeeze-em...........i used to work for NOS and hit the bottle pretty hard on everything i own:D

I dont run spacers.I used a "small" 3 lb sledge and the metal moves real fast in that corner,so dont go crazy. I only gave it a few good wacks and would put the whell back on.With 1/4-1/2" clearance its fine.
