Taurus fan depth? Water pump rotation direction?

I doubt that would do much in my situation. It might help, but I dunno.. there's not much room for a fan in front of everything. As I have it right now, I have to pull the bumper cover off if I want to change any of the light bulbs up front! The intercooler is in front of the radiator and pretty...

Taurus fan depth? Water pump rotation direction?

Thanks for the input.. well, looks like i'm going to have to find a different fan. I only have 2.5 inches between my water pump pulley bolts and the radiator core. :bang: The largest mechanical fan I can run is 13", otherwise it would hit the hood. I have a rather unusual setup, so I am having...

Taurus fan depth? Water pump rotation direction?

Anyone know how deep the Tore-ass (Taurus) radiator fans are? Looking for a junkyard solution to my radiator fan search. Another thread referenced the Taurus fans in regards to moving a lot of air. I'm a bit tight on room, but I might can fit it in. Got my twin turbo 351w running a few months...

    Megasquirt expiriance

Yeah... mine sucks! It's transfer rate isn't fast enough to keep up with the data stream. I have to set the communication interval pretty high, so therefore my datalogs don't have enough datapoints. It works ok for just loading code, changing settings, etc, but that's about it. When I upgraded...

    Turbo Tuning

9.0:1 compression is a pretty decent compromise for power and street use with pump gas. Yes, more compression is better, but it makes tuning it more difficult and less forgiving to errors. A wastegate doesn't know anything about WOT. All the WG knows is whether or not boost pressure is...

Difference between 2.3Turbo and 2.3N/A blocks?

I know what you're saying, however, I just can't picture how that would work unless the turbo was mounted above the hood or something. Beats me.

Difference between 2.3Turbo and 2.3N/A blocks?

:bs: So are you saying the oil will drain up hill against gravity to a point higher than the oil drain on the turbo? I'm having a bit of difficulty seeing how this would work. Guys, tapping the pan is easy, and that's definitely the best place to put the drain. Forget the stock drain...

    engine swap 2.3L to 5.0

It's because we don't like typing an answer 6487 times for the same question. Especially on topics that have been around and discussed since 1809.

    engine swap 2.3L to 5.0

it is impossible. no one has ever done it before, and no one has ever documented it on the internet...ever. google and search buttons are our friends. :dead:

    2.3L engine swap to a 5.0 L

think about it, man. the guys in the 2.3 forum are here because they have 2.3 engines in their cars. this isn't the 5.0 swap forum. first of all, learn how to use google, and learn how to use the search button at the top of this page. this topic has been covered literally hundreds of times...

Whats up - long time no see

What's up, man! I'm still around every now and then.. when I get bored I come over here for a laugh to see the latest and greatest posts. If you want any useful information, go to turboford.org. I also read a lot on turbomustangs.com. I think you've seen it, but I just wanna post the pic...

    Programing Chip

Don't waste your time or money on a chip.. buy some real parts for the engine. As mentioned, a Ranger header and opening up the intake tract will do a lot more than a chip will. Most of the power in that engine is hidden in the cylinder head.. port that and you'll see big gains.

    Injector Questions

sorry, forgot to mention that the 2.3t stock brown top injectors are low impedence. it has been a while since i measured on, but the resistance is low, somewhere around 2 to 4 ohms. just use your digital multimeter and check the resistance (ohms) of each injector. they should all be the same...

    Injector Questions

 I used to be able to smoke the tires up to 300mph on my car.. then i had to replace them b/c i burned all the rubber off. i put some temporary spares on there that i had laying around, and now my car is even slower.. it just sits there and burns rubber and never goes anywhere. :banana...

make my car the TINIEST bit faster

It's not too bad if you have some patience. To get an iron head where I like it, I usually spend about 35 to 45 hours on it. Check out my website (http://www.binaryweb.com) and look around for some pics of my ported heads. If I remember correctly, you can't go hardly any more than 0.450" lift on...

make my car the TINIEST bit faster

You will find the most power in the cylinder head.. port it! It is very restrictive, and you will notice a nice boost just cleaning up the casting and smoothing out the runners. While you're at it, stick in a Ranger roller cam or some other cam. Gear will help, but not all THAT much. Oh yeah...

Grrrr, Failed Smog after turbo swap! Help!

NOX is a byproduct of high cylinder temperatures... make sure your EGR is working.. I know y'all know what EGR does, HOW it reduces NOX is by effectively reducing the cylinder's displacement with unburnable exhaust air.. there is no/very little oxygen left in the exhaust after combustion, so it...

351w Info needed - pistons and CR

I've had a lot of fun with my 260+ HP 2.3 turbo engine, but it is time to move on to bigger and badder projects. Just picked up a 351w engine to drop in in place of the 2.3. 7 out of the 8 pistons are cracked and it needs to be bored. I'm trying to figure out the compression ratio. This will be...

Sludge and or Carbon build-up? Funny thing happend on a road trip

Hehehe if you thought it was rough riding in a car at 4300 feet, you should try riding a bicycle to the top of Monarch Crest in Colorado. It's 11,312 feet. I was able to feel the effects of the altutude near the top, but as long as I didn't push myself too hard, it felt ok.

    Granatelli MAF transfer curve?

I am helping my friend tune his Mustang... I can burn chips on the Moates.net J3 adapters, so we were wanting to put his MAF transfer curve in the tune. His maf is a Granatelli and the model on it says just "75." I suppose that's a 75mm.. anyway, does anyone have a transfer curve for this MAF?
