New GT in England - pics

On the road here in England since December 1st - just over 8,000 miles so far! Only a couple of others at or near the Air Force bases, but did see two in London at the Ace Cafe last month. Was able to get pics with the Sally B - the only B-17 Flying Fortress that still flies here in England...

Applause - I got applause today for my girl!

Here in England I get a lot of great comments but the best was stuck in traffic on the M25, and a guy was taking pictures of it while next to me with his phone camera! Guess that's why they call it a "poser" car here - and I love it!

    UK 'Stang...wheel change.

I work on Lakenheath, teach part time, and drive around the area as much as possible - over 8,000 miles since December 1st! Like to cruise all the local areas, Newmarket, Cambridge, March, Ely, Wisbech - and I haven't seen another red GT since I got mine. Drove down to the Ace Cafe in London...

any stock auto gt's go track? what #'s?

Have a stock auto GT, only mod is a JBA axle back. Thinking about going to a local track day in June here just to see, but have never done it before, and don't really want to embarrass myself not knowing exactly how to get the best launch/time - any suggestions?

    2nd Defective Gas Tank

Mine was on the road here in the UK Dec 1st - so an early build. Had tank replaced 2 weeks ago, problem has mostly gone away, but has still happened once, and a little blip one time. Hopefully it is sorted out, don't want to get another tank if it is a very occasional thing - not worth it...

Who owns an 05 as their first Ford/Mustang?

First Mustang ever - at age 54! Last car with muscle was my 65 GTO in high school - and I am reliving those times now! Actually ordered my GT before I ever saw one - living in the UK kinda makes it hard to test drive many cars. But I took a chance after reading advance reviews, and ended up...

    get this

Bagged groceries at the local A&P to pay for my 65 GTO when I was 16. I'll never forget paying $1,000 a year for insurance! In 1966! But I took care of the care since it was my own time and work that paid all the bills. Parents wouldn't buy me a car then, and I thank them now. I have 2...

Help, I cant stop driving my 05!!

I'm 54, but feel like a lucky teenager every time I get behind the wheel of my new GT! I have bought plenty of family cars, but like others, this is the first car I bought for ME since my '65 GTO in high school - and the thrill is back! Putting a lot of miles on it, just because it feels so...

    First Oil Change?

OK - new at this - have a lovely ride and want to take the best possible care of her - so . . . . Have just under 2,000 miles (in 5 weeks) - Change now? Regular or synthetic? If synthetic is better, why isn't it recommended by Ford? Thanks for all the advice!

Top Gear Review on 05 GT

It doesn't seem to bother the Brits in my area - driving my GT anywhere over here in England has heads not just turning, but spinning! They are really thrilled by it for the most part, and I enjoy pulling over and letting them have a closer look - I'm really proud to be an American in the UK...

Need Help with picking out Exhaust..

I love the car, but wish it was a bit more throaty. Not concerned with hp increase - wondering if exhaust cut-outs with a very thin washer in place would sound nice? Did this in high school with my '65 GTO and enjoyed the sound. OK, OK - I'm dating myself! Any thoughts on cut-outs?

Gas tank won't take gas, CD player won't play CD's...etc...

Same problem with fuel here in England - waiting for them to publish a fix, but it is fun in the stations, geting all the attention it deserves. Stuck in traffic around London yesterday, several vehicles told me how much they enjoyed being in a traffic jam with something so nice to look at -...

    Problem adding fuel

Yeah, you're right. Pumps here in UK are same as back home, no big rubber bellows like we had back in Texas (anti-fume stuff). Hope they publish a fix soon, but hey - not the end of the world. No one minds watching me take forever to fill the tank, they are too busy looking over the 'Stang!

    Problem adding fuel

Went to the Ford warranty shop here in England, the other GT that arrived here 3 weeks ago, with mine, has also called them, same problem. They called Ford in the States while I was there and it was confirmed that it has been a known fault on some of the 05s, they apparently sent out a notice...

    05 GT in England!

I've found just the opposite - especially the couple of UK Ford dealerships I have stopped by. Yeah, everytime I pass one I drive up to their service area to give the mechanics a look, and they really appreciate it. No telling when, or if, they will see one, let alone look under the hood and...

    05 GT in England!

Thanks for the compliments, but as for thanking the locals - well, let's just say it was a more pleasant experience when I was stationed here during the Viet Nam era, 30 years ago. The vast majority here is so anti-Bush over the Iraq War that it makes me sick. Don't want to turn this great...

    05 GT in England!

You're right - my parking lights are now the turn indicators, and the place that did the conversion (included in my purchase price) added two tacky looking white lights on either side of the front plate, set back as far as possible. When they are off you don't notice them, but when on they look...

    Problem adding fuel

Did you change anything, or did it just get better by itself? Yes, I'm in England but there is a Ford warranty place here, only about 30 miles from my house, but I hate to give it to them, since it usually takes forever here to get anything done. And if they decide to replace a part - well...

    Problem adding fuel

Am I the only one who is having difficulty getting fuel into my new GT? At most stations, it keeps kicking back, same as a full tank does, and it is taking me forever to slowly add fuel. Is it a venting problem? Have tried all the different combinations I can think of as far as angle of...

    05 GT in England!

Oh yeah - I miss the sun, especially this time of the year. But to have such a unique vehicle almost makes up for it! I buy my gas on base (retired military, teach college on base, wife is a BX manager), so have the luxury of paying U.S. prices - much better than the 6-7 bucks a gallon they...
