I made a little problem for myself and need help

the pulley should just be bolted to the harmonic balancer. to get the balancer off you will need a harmonic balancer puller which aren't too expensive. you can also just rent one from most parts stores.

    EMS recomendations

I don't have anything against the fast system, as I've also heard that it is very nice, however it's a bit (way) more expensive. Their ecu is $1700, not including any of the other junk you need, and it looks as if they require you to run their distributor. For me, the cost difference between...

    Simple proportioning valve question..

usually screwing the knob in will reduce the flow to whichever side of the brakes you installed the valve on. I think the noise you are hearing is unrelated to the proportioning of the brakes. are you sure your pads are in right? did you use brake cleaner on the rotors?

    EMS recomendations

Hello all. I'm building a 5.0 to go into my '65 mustang and I'm looking for recomendations on the engine management system. So far I have a stock bottom end short block with new rings, cam, rod, and main bearings. Twisted Wedge 170 heads TFS stage 1 cam '93 cobra upper intake and a...

    V-Belt vs Serpentine Questions???

when i put the 5.0 into my '66, I just used a 5.0 swap radiator and a kit from march performance which put the alternator on the passenger side and the tensioner on the driver side. It maintained the proper rotation for the serpentine system. I also had to use an electric fuel pump. it looks...

    CSRP Disc Brake Swap Problem

Usually the free travel is due to there being a gap between the rod and the MC. adjust the rod out to reduce the gap, but not so far that it's pushing on the MC when the pedal is all the way up.

    Disc brake conversion

Is there a reason you can't use factory replacement tie rod ends?

    CSRP Disc Brake Swap Problem

Are you using a brake booster? If so, are you sure the push rod is making contact with the master cylinder?

    302 valve timing

I don't know the answer to your question, but there were several different cams depending on the year of the engine.

It might, but for $1.50 I'll give it a try. It doesn't say how deep they are.

    engine refreshening help

Thanks. I have the baffles cut out now, and the covers now fit on the engine. I'm going to try a set of grommets with built in baffles and see how they work. Summit has their own for $1.50 each. If that doesn't work I might build my own low profile baffles.

Am I crazy or do you think it will work

going spring over isn't the best idea if you ask me. For one, you will be lifting more than 2.5". The lift will be the diameter of the axle tube, plus the thickness of the spring pack, plus the thickness of the spring pad on the axle. With Jeeps it usually ends up around 6" of lift. Other...

    engine refreshening help

Well I finally got some parts together and started on the engine. So far everything has gone well, except for my valve covers. Exactly how important are the baffles? I really like the covers i have but the baffles are making contact with the studs. The valve covers were advertised as being...

    66 mustang and vortech

I have been told by the people at mustang depot that it will fit. I have also seen a few posts about having to modify the alternator bracket so that the alternator will clear the frame rail brace where the strut rod attaches. People have gotten it to work though.

    Fold in transmission tunnel!!

I'd take it to a frame shop and have them check out the alignment of the frame rails etc. if it's out of whack see if then can bend it back. It looks like someone took your stang off of some sweet jumps or something. If the rails are in alignment, then it's probably ok. I'd take a bfh and...

    '99 Cobra Seats in a '65

I don't know what they usually go for, just keep in mind what a good pair of aftermarket seats go for, then the used cobras should be significantly cheaper. Some people think things that have a cobra logo are made of gold.

    Gauge Light Question

I would first check the headlight switch. It could be broken or you might need to rotate the knob to increase the brightness of the dash lights.

    engine refreshening help

from trick flow: "There is no performance advantage from on to the other. The 51400010 just does not have the smog ports and it comes with the bigger rocker studs." Both are the same price at summit. I'm not going to be using a smog pump and my '65 will never see emissions. Which ones do you...
