Some Stupid Problems I NEED to Fix!!!

Well guys I am going out of my mind. First off I have searched for both, first is the turn signals which I have searched for. My fuses are all good so that is not the problem, my hazards work. I have tried checking at the ignition switch, I heard wiggling it may help but I am lost. I am also...

    Carb Guru's...Help!

Do not ditch the carb. I went through the exact same thing as you did for weeks, and didn't get to drive it cause of it. I am going to try to dig up my stuff for you, and see what we did to get it running. I am really busy right now otherwise I would post here.

    HELP: Piston-Valve Clearance Issues

I think the XE268H is a decent sized cam for your needs, my buddy has it in his 350 camaro and it pulls well. It will be different in a 289, but make sure to clay up and measure your clearance regardless. If you can't make it then it is time to flycut the pistons. Is the engine out of the car...

    HELP: Piston-Valve Clearance Issues

First you need to check to make sure that it has atleast .1" if clearance. You can't just crank it and hope it doesn't hit that will end up with nasty results. Now you can either drop the cam a bit or get those pistons notched. It isn't just the chevy valves, the duration, notches in the...

Pics of my new 67 "was it worth 5000"

Very good deal you got there. Now it's time to lower it and put some tires with more sidewall. To much space in those wheel wells for my taste. Enjoy the car it is gorgeous.

    Gears vs Heads

I will throw in a vote here for the 3.55's.

    Exhaust tips!

To be straight up honest with you. You will probably never get your 289 to sound like that without some serious serious mods. The modular 4.6 is a completely different design engine, and does have one of the best sounds. A muffler won't give you that sound.

    Aftermarket Intake/head combos?

You'd be surprised how well the 351 rotating asseblies hold up. The rods and crank are fine for some good rpms. I am going to be taking mine to 7500, hasn't gone above 7000 yet since I am breaking it in. It is a little lurchy down low, but man when it hits that powerband, it is like the car...

    stock pistons?

Always check your clearances when installing a new cam. It is 20 minutes of your time and will save an engine. DO NOT CUT THIS CORNER! Worst case scenario you have to notch the pistons, not a big deal.

    T5 wc upgrades

Hey Tommy all that I really know of is the bearing retainer that astro performance sells, helps stabilize everything and is a worthwhile upgrade for only $50. There aren't too many things you can do save for a short throw shifter, and stronger internals. Unfortunately new internals are going to...

Yep no spring necessary on a hydraulic clutch.

    Whats a good T5 shifter?

Steeda Tri-ax gets my vote. It is a nice stiff shifter, if you can't man up then you hear people complaining about it being notchy. I think it is perfect for daily driving too, which is why I put one on my 5.0 also.

    Best 5.8 donor?

The later bronco's came with EFI 5.8's if I am not mistaken. I don't know if they are speed density or mass air flow though.

    Young Owner's insurance

I have mine listed so that they think my mom is the primary driver, cause I am only 19. It is also listed as driven infrequently I pay $170/6 months. I have had too many tickets too, cause my insurance for the 5.0 on full coverage costs me $330 a month. Luckily I am paying it off and dropping it...

MY 66 W/302ci IS BACK FIRING STARTING FIRES ON THE CARB HELP !!!

If you just hand tightened your rockers, then I recommend you go through and adjust all the valves properly. Then tackle the timing, it is one or the other usually.

Debating between cable and hydraulic clutch

The master cylinder fits perfectly on a 69. The reason I didn't go with cable is first because of header issues, and mostly because a quadrant would not fit in a 69-70 without contacting the cowl. I was not about to butcher the cowl, and risk rusting it out.

Debating between cable and hydraulic clutch

The master cylinder fit perfectly on my 69 I don't know how different our firewalls are though. Me personally I would go with cable, I prefer the feel, and I absolutely hate bleeding the freaking hydraulic I have now. 300 miles and hundreds of bleeding sessions and it still isn't bled properly...

    Pushrod problems

Time to get a custom pushrod length checker. You need to tighten that down with it set so that the rocker is pressing at the center of the valve, or you will bend pushrods, possibly drop a valve, or mushroom the head off the valve.
