    351W Stroker vs 390

The guy doing the swap for me put a 390 in my father's 1960 Starliner. He said he could notch the shock towers so it would fit better although with headers it would be a little tight. I'm just wondering about straight-line performance if there's much of a difference. I'm not looking to...

    351W Stroker vs 390

The car had a 351W. But the 351W is going into the 66. I have another 351W block only, that's it. The 69 is stripped. I bought it off the previous owner. It's a restoration that was never completed. Body is sound. I'm pretty flexible on the rebuild. I'm working under the assumption that...

    351W Stroker vs 390

I have a 69 Mustang Fastback that I'd like some opinions on what to do for an engine. What would be the pros and cons of going with a 351W stroker say a 393/408 vs going with a big block 390? TIA.

    Rear Axle Ratio

I've got a 66 coupe under restoration. Planning a 408W w/ a C6 transmission. Rear has been upgraded to a 9 inch housing. However, I still need the center section. I have a used one which needs a rebuild. What ratio should I go with given that I'll have a 408W, C6, and 17" wheels. Planning...

    Gauges for 66

Thanks for the info. I really like that setup you have. Where did you get the aftermarket bezel? And what combination color and style gauges are those?

    Gauges for 66

I'm putting a 408W in my 66 coupe. What should I do about gauges? I'd like to use the factory style dash but use aftermarket 12v gauges. Is there a company that makes a quality replacement setup or am I best off just fitting my own gauges in the dash? I'm partial to AutoMeter but will...

    AFR 205s and pistons

I'm looking at going with the AFR 205 heads for my 351W stroker motor (408). As I understand it, the AFRs come with 2.08 valves which may require flycutting the piston valve reliefs. Is this true? And if so, does it throw off the balance of the assembly? TIA.

    351W to 408 Stroker owners...step inside

I have a couple of questions on this. Whose rotating assembly are you using? And what do you think of Eagle assemblies? What CR are you running? Looking at Eagle assemblies, looks like they have a -28cc dished piston and a -19 dished cc piston. That would place me at about 9.8CR or...

    66 Coupe Rocker Panels

The body shop working on my car asked if I wanted to retain the rocker panels (run on the outside of the car, under the doors) or they could fill the holes and leave the rocker panel mouldings off. For a resto-mod car, I'm looking for some opinions on what looks better. Should I leave the...

    351W Stroker; 393 vs 408

Blown65, so you like the TrickFlows over AFR. Don't Trickflows require a special type of piston for the valve reliefs?

    351W Stroker; 393 vs 408

Thanks for all the replies. I'm really not too familiar with doing 351W stroker motors. Originally, I was planning to do a 331. However, the project got way more involved than I thought it would. The front end had some frame damage. The shop working on the car suggested since I wanted to...

    351W Stroker; 393 vs 408

I've decided that I'm going with a 351W stroker for my car. One engine builder I've had discussions with wants to do a 408 instead of a 393. Says he can get more power out of it. What would be the advantages of a 408 over a 393? Also, what size heads would work well with the 408, AFRs 185s...

    1966 Mustang Coupe Restoration

Thanks for the comments. Similar situation here. Car sat in garage for 10+ years. I was lucky to get it started and running to pull it on to the trailer to haul to the shop. Any way, next step is some new floor pieces, new trunk floor, new quarters.

I've decided to put a 331 in my car and have a question.

I was just wondering if others have tried this. I don't know anyone who has done a partial fill on their SBF.

    1966 Mustang Coupe Restoration

Thought I'd give a quick fyi on how my 66 coupe is coming along. I've owned this car since 1981. It was my 1st car that my father got for me when I was in high school. The car is a 66 coupe, 289 4v, pony interior, with A/C, power steering, power brakes, factory limited slip, AM/8-track...
