    how much more HP???...

Try here: http://www.velocitymustangperformance.com . Justin is a good guy to deal with. You do have to replace the belt. With the smaller pulley(s), the stock belt is too long.

    how much more HP???...

Yes but you generally buy an exhaust for more than performance. For most people, it's more about look and sound than performance. A chip isn't. And I realize boltons won't really affect the chip. My point was just that $350 for a few horsepower isn't the most effective way to go. For less...

    how much more HP???...

The exhaust and CAI are a good start. Make sure you have some place you trust do the exhaust. I've seen a lot of real ****ty jobs out there. Then chip is probably not the best investment at this point in time. If you have a 99+, a throttle body would be a total waste of money. On a 94-98, it...

    Vortech Dyno results in...

Cool man. Don't worry about it, the tune will set you straight. 193hp is disappointing for 9psi for sure, but you're running, what, 9:1, maybe 8:1? 7:1?? The tune will set you straight, and with 240hp and 260+tq at the wheels of a lighter V6, you'll be able to keep up with moderate V8s...

Where to buy a GT take-off cat back??

Do NOT buy it from an online store or bull**** like that. Go find a V8 Mustang discussion forum like this one. Hell even check the V8 sections here on Stangnet (a dedicated V8 board is better, though). There will be guys over there that can't get rid of them!! I picked mine up for $60 from...

Wow, you're puking fuel like a madman. Get that **** tuned right and you'll easily see 40 more horsepower and lbft. On an unrelated note - what happened to your carbed 302, eh? ;) My 351W is well under way. BTW - careful driving it that rich for long. You'll **** up your cats in no time.

    tps sensor mayhem

Dude I don't even know where to start. A TPS can easily cause RPM fluctuations (like starting up at 3000 instead of 1500). But I can't see the TPS as causing serious backfiring/afterfiring like that. Sounds like the car has some pretty serious issues....

Do GT's have the same '99-00 PCV problem as V6?

No, they don't. The reason the 99-00 V6s have such an acute problem is really nothing more than 'circumstance'. The location of the PCV valve in the valve cover, combined with the way the oil splashes inside the head, etc. etc. ANY PCV system will draw small amounts of oil into the intake...

99-00 lower intake work on a 01 v6 with out issue?

The 99-00 lowers have a coolant temp sensor in the intake, the 01+s do not. So you would need to plug that. Besides that (and the IMRC hardware), I don't think there are any differences. Edit: for reference, the coolant sensor boss is at the rear, passenger side of the lower intake, near...

Thinking about sellin the 6'er for this monster

My advice to you is this - when you go to buy a car, and you see a seemingly great car for a seemingly great price, you, as a buyer, have a tendency to say "OMG, what a deal, this is great, I have to buy this'. You get caught up in it and maybe don't see what's really going on. It's like a...

    Throttle by wire?

I've driven/worked with tons of GM cars with electronic throttle control. When it's tuned properly, you can't even tell it's there. And in fact, it can not only save gas by closing the throttle on coasting, etc, but can save your ass in the even that you stomp on it in park/neutral. That...

    Dyno numbers from a 5.4 3V

That dyno must not be right. 225rwhp is semi-believeable. Figure 225rwhp = maybe 260-280hp at the crank (for a lossy truck driveline). 260-280hp is not spectacular, but isn't awful for a 5.4L ... 50hp/liter. But 255rwtq, there's NO way that can be right from a ~327ci engine. Even low...

    Dyno numbers from a 5.4 3V

    255lbft from a 5.4L?? That's attrocious. Unless there's 100lbft worth of driveline losses? :nonono:

I've heard rumors that Ford will put.....

Don't get worked up over nothing. There's a BIG difference between these "event data recorders" and a true "black box". In the vehicles listed, all the EDR does is take a brief 'snapshot' of the vehicle condition prior to a crash. They have about a 3-4 second memory that stores things like...

    Casting #s that dont match...rebuilt?

I see... thanks. This engine was "supposed" to have been pulled from an 86 Crown Vic. Any idea if an 86 Vic would have still used the D4AE 351W casting?? Or would there be other numbers on the block to check and verify whether it was the original engine?

    Casting #s that dont match...rebuilt?

Okay so this may seem like a stupid question, but should ALL the casting #s on every part of my engine match? For example, I just bought a 351W to work on. The block says D4AE, which to my research is a 1974 Galaxie. But the rods say D6OE, which is a 1976 Fairlane. So has this been...

BTW, I'm gonna document the whole build. Mostly for my own interest. Here's where it'll go: http://members.rogers.com/dmepham/ Not much there so far, but stay tooned. ;) I'm going to post up little helpful bits of information I've learned along the way that may be helpful to other ppl...

    new toy...

Heh, that would definitely be neat. It's still at least a year off for me, at least. I'm pretty sure to build this engine the way I want is going to cost at least 2k, maybe 3-4k, so I pretty much have to spread it out over a year or two. And the cubes aren't all that matters. :) My objective...
