    Supercharger Question

Cobra crank is already forged, so yes, in simple terms just worry about the rods and pistons. I had the aluminum block bored over and Diamond assembled the short block with Manley rods and Diamond pistons (keeping compression at 9.85). There's other things to think about to like oil billet...

Storing my car what do I need to do to my car?

What he said....you can put it in the snowblower, lawnmore, whatever so the gas doesn't gum up and go bad. Perfectly safe for cars, boats, RV's...... I've used it for winter storage the last 4 years in the Cobra.

    Supercharger Question

First off, it will most likely cost more than that if you buy all new parts. Labor will be another $1K or so. The 03+ blower will not work....but you can buy a KB though. The aluminum block will work just fine unless you plan to make insane power. Plenty of 600-700RWHP with aluminum blocks...

    Supercharger Whine

V1....loud. Like you can hear it 6-8 houses away as it's pulling up to your house. V2 (what I have)....decent volume at idle, not too loud but you can still hear it...sounds a little like jet whine. You can hear it maybe a house away. KB....can't hear anything at idle but when you get on...

Storing my car what do I need to do to my car?

Same....full tank of gas, add Stabile, disconnect negative connection on the battery. Maybe put a dryer sheet or two inside so it doesn't smell musky when you return.

Question for those with Forged Shortblocks

You will be able to have a reassembled forged short block biult and installed for around $4500 easily. It's the "While it's out I might as well" bug that starts to add up....up the boost, P&P the heads, swap out injectors, upgrade the fuel system..... It never ends.

Cold Hard Cash $$$ Burning my pocket

If you are willing to spend up to $15K you could afford a 99 Cobra. 99 up has the IRS so if you plan to drag race, this will be a negative. If it's a daily driver and mainly a street car you will like it. Otherwise the 98 Cobra would do you well for a little less money. I'm in Clinton Twp...

For those of you spraying your 99 or 01 Cobras...

Ya, another guy I hang out with had a GT with a 100 shot of nitrous. He had Lid do the tune. Basically, as long as the bottle was on all he had to do was arm it and he was ready to go. To arm it he had a little switch by the shifter to flip. He could flip it while driving too which was...

For those of you spraying your 99 or 01 Cobras...

The cost includes a SuperChip, tune, and dyno time....it's about average if you call around....plus you are getting a tune from one of the best. Plus it's a flip chip and he will tune both your n/a and nitrous set ups. Just do it....why risk frying a piston or two? THAT will cost you some...

    vortech or procharger?

You can't go wrong with either one....anything under 10 lbs is considered safe. As safe as you can be on a stock block anyway. Just make sure you have the proper injectors and fuel pump to support the power and get a custom tune. Make sure you use the octane that the car was tuned on...

How much HP can a cobra make before requiring to use C16?

What year Cobra do you have? If it's a pre 03 then you don't have a forged bottom end. 500RWHP seems to be the limit, then bad things start happening. However, you could be at 425RWHP and still have the engine blow up. If it's an 03-04 then it comes forged. You could run 500+RWHP on...

    Blower Dilema...2001 Cobra

The centri's are a lot of fun....but you do have to get into the RPM's before you really feel the pull. At 5K RPM's it starts to push you back in your seat. With the KB, it's instant. Like someone just rear-ended the car. Puts you back in your seat right away. So, for a street car...

How much HP can a cobra make before requiring to use C16?

It's a newbie question for sure :D There's no magic number. It all depends on how you tune the car. Race gas burns a lot differently than pump gas. Tuners can dial in more timing and lean out the a/f a little more, which results in more power. I've seen guys run 600RWHP and run 93...

What can I expect from drag radials?

Is this for the track and/or the street? Nitto's are good for the money. To get them to hook at the track you have to heat the **** out of them first. BFG's are sticky as hell, but you will be lucky to get 5-6000 miles out of them...and that's just using them on the street.

    Painting Calipers

You simply paint the whole caliper, then use some fine sandpaper and carefully take the paint off the raised "Cobra" letters...takes 2 minutes and looks better than new. I also used the High Temp engine paint, 3-coats red, 2 coats clear. I had the calipers off the car at the time which made it...

    Need help spending money... $8k

Pricing is rounded up on the high side.... Forged short block $4K P&P heads $1k Labor $1.5K Throw more boost at it $1.5K (tune, injectors, fuel system, MAF....) I just spent your $8K for you. :nice: Seriously though, with that mileage take care of the bottom end first.

    What next ?

Here's my story.....purchased one bolt-on, then got the bug. Ended up with every bolt-on, ported intake and made 319RWHP....got bored. Put S-trim on, made 487 RWHP....lasted about 9 months...during that time tranny went also....replace tranny. Then replaced motor...ported heads, added boost...

Which part makes the exhaust so loud ?

 Take two cars with the same mufflers, but one has an o/r mid pipe and the other has a catted mid pipe and tell me which one is louder. Mufflers are only part of it. :bang:

Which part makes the exhaust so loud ?

:rlaugh: The mid pipe is most of what makes the exhaust loud. Not sure what you can do here except put the stock H-pipe back on with all 6 cats. Drive it around for awhile...you might get use to it. The tranny noise is most likely from an aftermarket shifter. This is good because the...
