    71 Convertable

    I have a chance to buy a 71 convertable 302/auto fresh out of paint with a solid body/frame, needing a new top and interior for 5K. Have not seen it but trust the seller. seems like a no brainer if as advertised. Any warnings? I drive a 65 as a daily.

    I have the Edelbrock A/F meter. It gives some helpful info but I don't know that it was the best idea. What mods, cam, carb size are you running? I mave have a similar set up. I am interested what you end up with.

    How would the 3.50s affect the rpm? If I am turning 1500 at 70 mph with the 2.79 what would I turn with the 3.50? Is there a formula? It is a daily driver with mixed city and highway use and I would like to stay flexable. Thanks

    Thanks, My diif does not have its tag but I do believe that it is a 2.79. I am running 70 series soon to be 60 so that will help and I plan a Tru-track with 3.25 gears as the next project. I have always enjoyed my car but it has really come alive with the new tranny!

    I drove my 65 coupe with the new T5 Z to see my daughter about 80 miles away. 80 MPH at 1700 RPM, 21.8 MPG. Is this comprable to other T5 set ups? I feel like I may have some room for a little taller diff now. Sure is cool to slip into 5th!

    What do I look for and how? Are you talking about seeing a vibration while looking at the balancer? All the rest is new, T5 Z, flywheel, bearings, clutch, and installed/inspected by me. The vibration was there before the change but I think the torque converter smoothed some of it out.
