    Help with painting rear end

    I think they state POR15 does not hold up well with UV light and recommend painting with chassis paint. Since this is your rearend and will reaely see light, I would sand and paint over with POR15.

    I think there are "new" and "old" bolt patterns for the big bearing rearends (I will look into this later, I have the chart at home). - can always redrill though.

    I have a 1957 Ranchero big bearing rear end. Yes there are more disc brake options for small bearing rear end. I'm running Bronco big bearing drum brakes on my '57 now (11 x 2.25). I would opt for the small bearing rearend now.

    The "7" does seem odd. Both Mexican blocks I have had started with C8 or D1. That block does have the "Hecho in Mexico" in the valley, as did both of mine. The big ticket item would be the main caps, pop off the oil pan and take a pic of caps.

    Should be ok as long as it does not move toward the moving parts (shock, spring, etc). Why not route it with the existing set of wires on the side of the shock tower?

    Ah...this minor engine problem could be patched up with a soldering iron, duct tape, and couple of 1/4" bolts. Also I would keep the NO2 shot down to 150 or so, because of duct tape flexing at higher HP levels. :rlaugh:

    Yes lots of variables to consider, but to keep it simple I'm running 10.7:1 in my 352 on 91 octane.
