    Mach 1 or Cobra?

Umm we are talking about a 1999/2001 Cobra which does not have -secondary cooling system for intercooler -blower -alt in poor location gets hot needs replaced more often -various other rmisc systems related to blower Debatable. -more complex exhaust to clear IRS- Please it is not complex...

    Mach 1 or Cobra?

:rlaugh::bs: Please explain this with facts, not opinions. The 03/04 Mach One and 99/01 Cobra Are very similar cars. Both cars have 4V motors with damn near identical parts(exception of intake and cams) 5 speed transmissions Similar brake setups The only main difference is The IRS...

goal for my 98gt (engine wise)

I never said anything of the sort. Nothing in that quote talks about a motor with high compression and blower. Looks like you are reading into it;)

    Mach 1 or Cobra?

Mach 1 Anyone who thinks a Cobra costs more to maintain than a mach 1 is very ignorant and has no clue what they are talking about. It doesn't surprise me one bit on who mentioned that. A 99/01 Cobra is pretty much the same setup as the Mach 1. Both are 4V motors that are almost...

goal for my 98gt (engine wise)

Who said anything about a high compression ratio+ boost? You do know you can get a built motor w/ forged internals that is setup for nitrous or a blower.

goal for my 98gt (engine wise)

Yes, A Teksid block is much stronger. Personally I would get a built forged bottom end with a good h/c setup with some juice or a blower. Then again, a 5.4 DOHC would be nice too:D Then again, Mr Papito aka Boss330 (one of the best and well known Modular engine builders/racers) runs 9's with his...

    97 svt 1/8

Slicks won't bog it down if you know how to launch it. Personally I would run a Drag Radial instead of a slick(you don't need it yet). You have to launch at a higher RPM with a DR or you will bog.

    97 svt 1/8

Reaction time does not effect ET in anyway. Depending on your short time(60'), you do have some room for improvement, but will take seat time. A 8.8-9.0 is ok for a stock car. However, you have heavier 18" wheels, a 4.10 gear and a street tire which will make coming out of the hole tricky. Your...

    Torque Arm Suspension

A TA/PHB/LCA rear suspension will be better than the stock setup. The stock setup design isn't the greatest. It has too many jobs to do and not enough parts to do the job correctly. So the end result is hindered performance. Personally, you can't go wrong with a MM TA/PHB/LCA combo.

    4.6 vs lt1

Nice kill. They can be fast when modded and even a few stock ones have run mid 13's with a good driver.

    Quickest mods to beat LS1!!

Bringing back from the dead eh? Also not exactly on those mods. They might beat a poor driver, but not a decent one with a strong car. I suggest you spend a lot more time at a dragstrip than reading magazine times from the ****tiest drivers.

1997 Cobra misfire in cylinder #2

I would check to see if it is a bad plug or wire. If good, check to see if the coil pack is bad. Check the injector Do a leakdown test on the cylinder to see if the valve is not fully closing.

    Is 5w30 ok?

Yes. Most of the 96-99 models had 5w30.
