Did some part polishing this weekend

I just clean them off by hand (de-grease or whatever) And then take 220 or 320 grit sandpaper to them, that's what takes most of the time, getting all the casting marks and flaws out. The actual shining process once sanded only takes about an hour.

Polished my friend's Vortech Intake Pipe this weekend. BEFORE - (not the exact one, but is the same material and condition as his was) AFTER I swear, one of these days I'm going to start a side business LOL Just wanted to brag a bit :) Just realized this is the wrong...

Vibration is still there!!! Please help me before I give up and sell the car!

Sorry this took so long, I haven't been on in a long time. The flywheel balance when apart was fine but when bolted up, the assembly (flywheel and pressure plate) would only be in proper balance when bolted up one way. This was due to slop in the peg holes on the pressure plate. Now that its...

Vibration is still there!!! Please help me before I give up and sell the car!

Sorry this took so long... Finally got around to starting my car for the season yesterday and I am happy to report that the vibration is completely gone. It wasn't the motormounts or tranny mount, the flywheel and clutch as a set were out of balance. I had to take them to a shop and found...

How To Convert To a Fox Style Throttle Body

I know all you need is a fox Cruise cable but I can't figure out how it hooks up. I got it hooked up to the cruise solenoid no problem. I can't get the TB end figured out lol. Someone on Corral (Shifter) told me that the cruise is mounted closest to the intake (as you look at the TB opening)...

How To Convert To a Fox Style Throttle Body

The cable was the wrong one, I'm all set there now. My next question is how the heck does the fox cruise cable hook up? I have the right part but have no way of knowing how to hook it up. The mount doesn't look like it will fit the bracket at all.

94-98 "Waffle Star" or other "painted" wheel owners, I have a question

Did the clear coat hold up and not peel? I have seen this newer paint from Dupli-Color that is supposed to be good for wheels, it looks nice but I don't know how it will hold up to the heat and chemicals.

94-98 "Waffle Star" or other "painted" wheel owners, I have a question

My 16" waffle stars have seen better days, their gloss has diminished and brake dust and other elements now stick to them and "stain" them to an extent. Since the finish was already shot, I took an SOS pad (VERY LIGHTLY) to them the other day to get rid of the remaining discoloration. Now...

How To Convert To a Fox Style Throttle Body

Its an accufab throttle body, so unless they started making them for explorers I don't think that is the problem at all, but I'll take another look at it just to be sure. I really think I just have the wrong cable. The metal part that hooks to the ball and the spring both look longer than...

How To Convert To a Fox Style Throttle Body

I ran into an issue and need some help. I think the throttle cable is too long for my application (spring part). When its attached, the spring is compressed so far that there is no room to open the throttle. Does this cable work opposite from a normal throttle cable or something? Or...

Post your favorite polished part on your car

Mandrel pic didn't work but I get the idea. Where did you buy it at? I'll check Home Depot. Also, is the very fine disc the one you used?

Post your favorite polished part on your car

I've never seen anything like that, is that something that is available at home deopt or something? What grit were the pads? Sorry for all the Q's but that alternator has been intimidating me. Seeing a result like yours is once again sparking my interest (bad pun) :bang:
