Saw the Dynacorn Shell today...

It was at American Mustang. I think they were about to leave for Reno when I was there, so it's probably gone by now.

    Saw the Dynacorn Shell today...

Stopped by the local stang shop here in Rancho Cordova, and there out in front was the unmistakable blue shell of a 67 mustang fastback. Took a look around and one of the guys pointed out some things. The shock tower change looks really beefy. Overall I actually thought it looked pretty good...

Also be aware that with increasing nastiness of cleaners you have a greatly increased chance for accidently removing paint.

    New Radiator?

In my experience you only need to replace it if it is leaking, your car is running too hot because it is too corroded or because of upgrades, or you just don't like how it looks. Did it puke out of the overflow? Put a small hose on there and get an overflow can. My stock rad usually pukes a...

Another oil leak question: Pan or Rear Main?

So I finished up my in-car engine freshening (new intake, carb, timing chain, oil pump) and I have a pretty major oil leak from the back. Originally I was thinking it was the rear main becuase that was the one thing I didn't check, but after reading several threads I am thinking the pan gasket...

    '68 Power steering problems

Several years ago I went through 3 new control valves that were being made by SSBC and had very similar problems. One literally blew up when I started up the engine. Everytime I sent one back they said they were still working out the bugs. I gave up and finally had my old one rebuilt and it...

    12volt switched power?

I'm having this issue too with my new electric choke. It says specifically "do not" use the coil 12v. Looks like I gotta go through the firewall eh?

    This is kinda funny.

FYI - For those interested in getting a respirator, the filter cartridges you should get are the P100 (HEPA) for particulates (these are usually purple/magenta) or an organic vapor filter (usually black) or, better yet a combo P100/OVA filter (which is purple and black). Not sure if you can get...

    Timing problem

No big vibration that I can tell. Yes it appears to be the original dampener. After thinking about it most of last night it, I think the likely scenario is that it slipped. The rubber is in very bad shape, so yeah.

    Timing problem

While doing some other work on the engine I cleaned off the dampener and highlighted the marks so you could read them way better. Well now when I go to time the car, the only place it will actually run is about 20 degrees off. As you can see in the pic an old scratch is on the dampener that...

I need direction to 302->C4 mating manuals or instructions

Not too dredge up a two week old post or nothin, but looks like I am going to be pulling my 289/c4 out. Along the lines of his last questions, is it easier to just pull the engine, rather than the engine/tranny combo? Also how much over head clearance is needed with a standard cherry picker...

    Pipe thread and fittings questions

Lots of good info, thanks all. I was able to build a T using brass pipe fittings from Lowes, as D.Hearne states it was 3/8". One of the interesting things I found out was that there are three different kinds of fittings (that Lowes stocks anyway) - Compression, Flare, and pipe...

    This is kinda funny.

Wow that must have been a lot of rust! Fortunately for me Health and Safety is huge in my field, so I have a full face respirator that I rarely use at work but gets frequently used at home when sanding or painting. Even one of those disposable masks would have saved you a few days of phleghm...

    Pipe thread and fittings questions

I am finding out that I don't know jack about pipe threads and fittings, so hopefully someone can lend some insight into this. How do I figure out what size I need for the following applications? Problem 1: I am trying to find a fitting that screws into the fuel pump and gives me a nipple to...

    removing balancer

This is correct. What I did to get mine off was to put one of the pulley bolts back in, then wedge a 2x4 between that bolt and the ground, so that the balancer won't turn when forced. Edit: On second thought, I read coolblue65's response as "put it in park". So I don't know if that works...

    Carter carb parts are unavailable?

Well that's what I thought too, but after doing some research the marine carbs are not made exactly like the auto ones. The metering is designed differently so that the carb cannot flood as much fluid as an auto can. When you look at the gaskets they are different. Oh well, he ended up...
