Progress Thread Grover: Window motor replacement & OEM rebuild

very nice, just one question... do you think 935hp is enough? LOL! I read you were going to turn it down so that it would hook up in 3rd...good luck with that... I drove a 800hp (at least that's what he told people) Fox on the street with DR's and it would haze them at the top of 4th at...

    1/8th Mile Time?

not an automatic guy, so, maybe start a thread just on that or keep researching... open up a dialog with TCi or who ever is making good convertors these days. typically, to get down handy 2500lbs you'll have to loose wipers/motor, bumper/supports, door crash bars... and sawzall, so, not saying...

    1/8th Mile Time?

weight, from what I have been told, you need to get creative with a sawzall to get down around 2500lbs car weight... again, just from what I've been told. And, I'm in total agreement with Joe; tire is going to be your hold up, but, with a 7.5" I get your reasoning. convertor is tight for a strip...

    1/8th Mile Time?

stock springs, 70/30's and 50/50,s pro3i weight Jacker lowers and baseline relocated uppers. front bar removed, rear bar is stock, air bag in the passenger rear, which is all tore up and not functioning... car has gone 1.62 spinning, so, if I ever get back to the track and get it figured out i...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

I din't mean that all you needed was $, sorry if that was implied... yes commitment is huge from what I've been told... if you want to be competitive, it becomes "your life". So, having said that, even if I had the $, I sure as heck would not commit like you guys do. hats off.

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

See, that's the thing about heads up racing... $$$... and class racing is even more $$$. That's no po-dunk track... didn't they used to run SCCA events there... or IMSA? Pretty sure I've watched several sports car events from that track.

100%, your opinion is exactly what my experience was, and is the point I was trying to make, thanks for making it crystal clear.

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

Bracket racing... I participated for 1 season... at the "sportsman" level, aka no electronics, foot brake, radials, licensed and insured... the very lowest basic/entry level. At that level it's not just about running the same every time. You have to watch the weather and the track, you have to...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

Yep same at Speedworld too, Wednesday and Friday nights, Saturdays mixed in when ADRA and/or PSCA were not racing. Facilities were poor, stands were scary, pits were seperated from spectators, staff new what was what, cars rolled through and the track hooked. Speedworld is a wasteland now...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

Sigh... my home track was soooo organized... Even on test and tune nights you were placed in a class, and then tire designation within the class, numbered as such, and called to stage. And if you tried to run out of order/fake your number they sent you back the long way... on gravel... and...

    Has Drag Racing Changed?

We had a track like that, but, it got shut down... from what I've been told, people moved near the track, then started complaining about noise, so, the city did what cities do... building code violations and tax assessment... owner said, not only will you not get more money from me, you'll get...

    Clutch Help

^^good points/advice... mine shifts like butter at 7500, but, isn't a stock T5... and some time was spend setting it all up... and I needed much modulation due to a rather aggressive cam that does not like life below 2k rpms. unique situation that does not apply to most. need to remember that...
