M/T Drag radials and skinnys for a d/d?

Thanks for the responses guys... Yes,I plan on going to the track as much as possible with this car. I live about 30 minutes from National Trail, so that is where I go. I have only had this car to a couple of test n tunes, but I want to try to run some events and at the least go to all of...

M/T Drag radials and skinnys for a d/d?

So, my car NEEDS tires. The rears were getting pretty bald, and then when winter hit I had to rotate them to the front so that I had tires with some tread on them for traction :( Now, Late Model Restoration has a sweet wheel/tire package with Race Star wheels fats and skinnies with M/T drag...

    One Thing Leads to Another...

So, a friend got new Ford Racing 4.10 gears for his '05 Mustang GT. The guy that was installing them says that he thinks that there are already aftermarket gears in his car, he thinks that they are 4.30's but he's not sure. My friend tells him to install the new gears anyway. So, Ron brings me...

new kenwood install question. volt regulator or not?

I'm posting from my phone so I can't add diagrams or pictures, but yes, there will be several unused wires. On the car harness side you won't use the + Illum and - Illum or the speed sense wires and possibly others. There are probably also wires on the radios harness that won't be...

    Pioneer AVH-P3200dvd head unit

Yes, you will need to install a 5 volt regulator on the amp trigger wires. The write up is here: http://www.stangnet.com/mustang-forums/736028-pioneer-avic-d3-installation-write-up.html Also that Metra wiring harness should be the correct one. You may also need a Metra 95-5812 Double...

    muffler

If you want it loud and don't mind it being raspy, then a muffler delete such as SLP Loudmouths is the way to go.....no mufflers=LOUD. I have them on my '05 GT with everything else stock and they are pretty good. A little quiet for me at idle, but I plan on doing L/Ts and an offroad X, so once I...

    How hard can it be?

The job is relatively easy for someone with decent mechanical skills. It is actually much easier if you are getting the entire spring/strut assemblies because you don't have to mess with dissassembling /reassembling the struts. You need a floor jack, jack stands a decent metric socket set, and...

2011 SVTPP clunking/grinding turning close to full lock...ideas?

The sound is a typical indication of a bad ball joints or strut mounts, but I can't imagine it on such a new car..plus the SVT cars use upgraded ball joints and strut mounts.....the fix for bad ball joints in the GTs was to replace the ball joints/strut mounts with GT500 parts.

    Need some audio help!

The Shaker 500 commonly loses the paint on the buttons. I have friends who have been through 2 or 3 of them. Thay are also called the "skipper 500" because they commonly have trouble with skipping or spitting out CDs and displaying "bad disc" for no reason (especially the earlier units)...

Mustangs don't do well in the snow..

On one hand, doing donuts in the snow in a mustang is fun because you arent shredding your expensive tires, and are less likely to get a ticket from the cops....you aren't leaving black tire marks all over the place, and you can usually get away with telling them " I was just testing out the...

Mustangs don't do well in the snow..

^^^THIS^^^ I've driven my '90 LX 5.0 and my '05 GT all year around. I also have a Jeep and last year got a '90 Toyota 4x4 pickup for a winter beater/offroad rig. I've driven the Jeep or Toy a total of about 4 days in the last 3 years. The tires on my '05 GT are getting pretty bad, and I will...

2006 GT accelerates on its own then dies when driving slow

"Throttle by wire" means that unlike older cars, there is no physical throttle cable between the gas pedal and the throttle body....it is all electronic and controlled by the computer. There is a stepper motor that opens the butterfly in the throttle body. The gas pedal has a potentiometer...

You should have gotten them involved by asking them for some action shots...boxing you in with lights blazing, patting you down and cuffing you. I mean since they were already there...:rlaugh:

    Annoying Temperature Gauge (2005 V-6)

I have an SCT Livewire tuner and use it to monitor real time sensor readings in my car. I believe that other tuners have the ability to monitor sensor reading as well, so if you have a tuner see if it will display realtime data. Another option would be to get a scanguage or other type of gauge...

a little pinging when I accelerate after

What kind of gas are you running? Running high octane gas on a bone stock car really has no advantage at all, since you need a tune to advance timing and adjust fuel trims to make more power. The higher octane just allows you to make those adjustments without creating knock. BUT if the K&N...

    5.0 Coyote crate engine

I'd rather just swap in an engine/transmission from a wrecked GT500. Near bulletproof 5.4L motor, 500HP (before throwing a smaller pulley on the S/C) and not having to pay for insurance on a GT500......
