    Clutch hole in firewall questions.

I believe Walt was the guy I used to deal with there. Good outfit. Call and ask for him and he'll take good care of you.

    Clutch hole in firewall questions.

Have you ever seen this type of firewall adjuster? Look toward the bottom of the page in the middle. This type has a block that distributes the tension over a larger area of the firewall. ProMotion Powertrain

My balancer doesn't go on like it did before

To be honest with you, I wouldn't take Comp's word for it. Measure the thickness of your old timing gear and compare with what you just installed or if you don't have the old timing gears, measure and post the results here. I have several used sets I can measure for you for a comparison. That...

What is up with this Typhoon intake?

I have a used one I picked up cheap on my '87. Vacuum leaks at the base to upper. Vacuum leaks at the Upper access plate. I had to coat the upper to lower gasket and access plate gaskets with RTV to seal it up. I only paid 100.00 for the intake but jeez. If it was worth it I'd take to a machine...

HP guesses before the dyno anyone?

It's tough to beat a Vic Jr intake.

    Lifters aren't pumping up

Agreed. In addition, any decent drill should be able to spin it up to at least 50 psi on the oil pressure gauge. Make sure you're drill is in reverse.

HP guesses before the dyno anyone?

    I think you'll be right around 355. I think with a 750 carb you'd be around 375.

400hp with a stock cam...believe it or not?

The advantage to the carbs in peak is nothing more than atomization. EFI cannot atomize fuel like a carb...period. EFI does have many other advantages over a carb which give you more hp at different rpm ranges but until there is an advance in the actual injector..carbs will alway have the peak...

My LX pictured above is an origional T-top. Pretty rare for an LX. Was special order only.

    t-top doors for foxbody

Wow, this is an old thread. I remember what I went through with the ole '87 LX above. Everyone on the net was saying...Oh yeah no problem, vert doors fit the T-tops..they're the same. My mistake was listening to them. Next thing you know I'm cutting doors in half, making...

    Body repair guys

Buffing is a waste is you aren't to the depth you need to be to remove the scratches. 2000 grit paper and a block sander will remove a more uniform and controllable amount of clear. Then it will only require minimum buffing. Whenever I buff any coating for the first time, it goes to 2000 grit...

    Body repair guys

Well, that can be tricky. I wetsand with a small rubber block for a repair like that. Go a little at a time and then wipe it down and squeege it off with the rubber block. You'll be able to see the the clear coming down. It'll haze and you'll be able to see the deeper scratches through it. As...

    Body repair guys

You could wetsand with 2000 grit and buff. Need to be carefull you don't take too much clear off though. It's hard to tell in the pic how deep the scuffs are. There may be some you can't get out if they're too deep.

    Gear with TKO

I think the 3:55 would put you about where you want to be.

    Gear with TKO

Based on that with the 3:73 I think you're going to run out of gear. Max speed 1:1 with a 3:73 at about 6k rpms and a 28.5 od tire will be about 136 mph. You'll exceed that with 750 rwhp. I find it kinda odd you'd have to ask this question considering you put together a combo putting out that...

    Gear with TKO

Really need more info to answer that question. How much horsepower and what is the max rpm? A 3:73 geared 26" tire would see about 126 mph in 4th gear (1:1) at 6000 rpms. Horsepower will determine how quick it gets there.

    Cowl hood for 83-86

The Cervini's fit nice but they're heavy compared to the HO Fibertrends which I've heard are also very nice quality and fit.

What clutch? When does the grip level become unstreetable?

I'd go Spec III for your setup. As far as streetability they're not bad at all. Pedal effort is easy also. They aren't extremely harsh unless you have alot of heat in them such as after a burnout. Then they're pretty much on or off. I ran a Spec III on the street for years.
