Gear with TKO

I have a TKO 600 with the .58 overdrive I have 3.73's in car now.Can I get away with keeping the car in 4th gear at the end of the 1/4 or will it top it out to soon.If I remember right the 3.73 was cutting it close.

Really need more info to answer that question. How much horsepower and what is the max rpm? A 3:73 geared 26" tire would see about 126 mph in 4th gear (1:1) at 6000 rpms. Horsepower will determine how quick it gets there.

sorry man i was in a rush out the door last night.It is at 668 rwhp im shooting for 750 this season.28x10.5 rear tire.Max rpms are about 6k

Based on that with the 3:73 I think you're going to run out of gear. Max speed 1:1 with a 3:73 at about 6k rpms and a 28.5 od tire will be about 136 mph. You'll exceed that with 750 rwhp. I find it kinda odd you'd have to ask this question considering you put together a combo putting out that kind of power. I had a less aggressive combo last season haven't had it to track yet with this setup/gear.My concern is running out of gear now so do you think I must go back to a 3:55?

I think the 3:55 would put you about where you want to be.
