    COMP Cams K31-238-3

Depending what youve got for cylinder heads, Ill assume stock 289, I would go with the smaller cam. The heads will be the weak link. If you can/want, pick up some better heads, or even just get yours ported. Other than the presumably stock heads, your setup sounds pretty good.

    EFI on a 1966 Mustang

The stock 19lb injectors will be more than plenty, along with the stock mass air and throttle body. I would also not use your existing 5.0 intake. Just step up to a gt40 intake from an Explorer since theyre only a couple hundred bucks and will give you a good 20-30 horsepower, although the old...

    valve float?

Usually when the engine starts to get a miss at high rpm. A friend of mine just spent a lot of time diagnosing what turned out to be valve float. I guess the best way to find it is when nothing else affects the miss.

    Boss 429 rear main seal

I already have all the parts to build 2 complete Boss engines top to bottom. :D They were setup to run as a 480" (.110" offset ground 460 crank, alum rods, 14:1, etc) but the cranks were both full of hairline cracks so Im just using a stock 460 crank and Eagle rods in one (undetermined in the...

    Boss 429 rear main seal

Is there any difference between a normal 429/460 rear main seal and one for a Boss 429? I have a boss block that Im building with a 460 crank and when I took it in to be balanced the shop said there was a difference in the rear seals.

    Need some EFI recommendations

Thats what I thought. I just havent dealt too much with EFI so I wanted to make sure. By the way, you say you have 19# injectors but your sig says 24#...

    Cam Choice

Even a stock cam should easily pull to 5500. You may just want to use a stock cam with the 1.7 rockers. Or you could get a cam with up to about 220* duration @ .050".

    Need some EFI recommendations

To start with, my goal is to put EFI in my 65 Comet. Its got a 3.55 gear, c4, 2500 stall converter. Engine is a 306 with trick flow stage 1 cam (~222 at .050, .515") and lightly ported windsor jr heads, long tube headers. Intake is undecided, but most likely explorer/gt40. stock H.O. cam...

70 Mustang custom with all aluminun 427 SOHC

BOSSCARS - Quarterhorse 427 Cammer Two words: Belt. Drive. Badass engine though! Ive often thought how cool it would be to put an all aluminum cammer with electronic Hilborn injection into a repop cobra with a 5 speed in it. :D hpmuscle, you have a PM.

    8 inch rear end

It depends on what you have for a trans (manual or auto), what year the rear end is (later ones are a little stronger, but I dont know when they changed), tire size/type, and how you drive it. If you have an auto and street tires, youll be fine.

    02 5.4 Lightning in 65 Fastback?

Along with what everyone else said, the 5.4L is ungodly heavy.

    Loud Squeak/Creak

Upper control arm shafts. They need grease. There may even be a hole cut in the tower itself to allow easy acess to the grease fitting, as this was/is a very common problem.

Front Drum to Disc Conversion Questions?

Ok, Ill say what I was going to say earlier, abeit a little more edjukaytid this time (wasnt paying attention before). Thats a pretty sweet kit, don't get me wrong, but you can do the same thing for a LOT cheaper with a MustangSteve kit, and itll use more common parts. If you haven't already...

So I am debating which DOHC v8 to use...

Its been a while since I worked on them, but I thought the turbo was a 3.5L, N/A was 3.7L. I know the trucks were 3.7L turbo.

    Front End Suspension Nightmare

Its possible the situation is worse than the pictures show, but from the looks of it I would get an acetalyne torch with a rosebud tip to get the whole are hot and just take a few whacks at it with a good hammer until its back into shape. Obviously youll need to remove the strut rod first...

So I am debating which DOHC v8 to use...

If you like the new 3.7L, just wait til '10 when the 3.5L turbo version comes out in the new Lincoln. Supposedly will be rated at ~400hp. Ford was/is experimenting with putting these in the Expedition/Navigator to give you an idea what kind of power they are capable of. Im no Mod motor...

so the race tech forum must be dead...

If you have the F3ZE heads, the ones that came on the 93 Cobras were milled .030" already. May not be a bad idea to cc them first, just to see where you stand. Chances are pretty good thats not what you have, but better safe than sorry. Porting the intake is a good idea, but true to Ford...

    GT 40 Head conversion

 The gt40 heads (non-P) have the same plug angle as the old heads. I have a set on my car, and no clearance issues. They flow about the same as the 69/70 W heads, but just simple bowl blending in the intake and opening up the exhaust all the way through will make a world of difference...
