in car video of my turbo fastback-finally

Your car is one that Ive liked since I first started trolling the forums here, and it has recently inspired me to believe that a turbo is within the reaches of a mere mortal like myself. No easy feat for sure, so my hats off to you for that. BUT, do I see an original fruit-jar single master...

what pullies to use with roller 302 swap in classic

What I did on my car was use a serpentine style belt, but ran it like a regular v-belt (clockwise water pump). I used the late model mustang crank pulley (E4ZE?), an 80s crown vic 5.0L water pump pulley (D9AE? OR F0AE? I think, have to double check, both work but slightly different sizes), and...

whats the best and cheapest way to put discs on my rear axle

Unless you were already narrowing the housing, right? Or would it be extra work above and beyond to rotate the housing ends?

Just Scored a 427FE Highriser for my 67

Roush is working on a package that puts a 4R100 behind a 511 FE, but Im almost positive its not out yet. Not to mention it will require a stand alone computer. Sorry Im not more help.

1st test drive with the new turbo

Any news to report? I found this doing a search on turbos, as I was toying with the idea of putting one on my Comet, but I think its a little more involved than Im looking to get right now. Maybe in a few years.

whats the best and cheapest way to put discs on my rear axle

With 31 spline axles, I suspect you may have the big bearings. If this is true, go with a set of Explorer brakes. I picked up a set from Taylor auto (a little drive from rochester) for $50, complete.

    engine build ????

Ditto. Although Im not so sure how much power youll find with a custom cam, it still pays to find the right cam for your combo.

Anyone ever heard of these heads?

It sounds like my info was right on, and that you have a pretty well balanced combo. I would port the heads and leave the rest alone. It all looks like it works nicely together. If your combinations seems lower on power than it should be and you have money to spend, try having a shop tune it...

Anyone ever heard of these heads?

I did a quick google of "alan root pro 1 heads" and one of the responses from some forum was this, and one of the other responses in the same thread said it was the same casting as an Alan Root head. Sounds like old stuff, but probly worth porting. "I have an older ('93) FMS catalog which...

    351W 400hp??

I was referring to the early gt40 non-P heads, but they both flow about the same with the Ps being slightly better.

    Retrofit roller lifter options

For once I have time to kill sitting in front of the computer. It looks like these are my options, someone correct me if Im wrong. A far cry from the ~$220 I was hoping to spend! Summits site says if the link bars are included or not, and these are the ones that are included. Crane: Crane...

    Retrofit roller lifter options

part number 66335-16, $213.99, ad says: These Crower hydraulic roller lifters combine the performance level of a roller with the reliability of a hydraulic. They feature a completely redesigned body and bearing, and can be retrofitted for earlier-style blocks. Part number 66337-16, $564.99...

    351W 400hp??

I was just looking at flow numbers for a whole slew of aftermarket heads compared to stock, and stock gt40s will outflow the JRs on the intake under .400" lift, which is where the valve is most of the time anyway. With porting Im sure the JRs would, or at least should, blow the gt40s away, but...

    Retrofit roller lifter options

Im interested in putting a roller cam in my 302 that is pre-roller, and thought I had a set of retrofit lifters picked out, but as I was reading the "400hp 351" thread, I posted a link to some retrofit roller lifters I thought would work and was told they wont. After some searching on Summits...

    351W 400hp??

Hmm... the page I posted says this- "...can be retrofitted for earlier-style blocks." So whats the difference, besides an additional $360?

    351W 400hp??

One of the mags supposedly made 400hp with a stock 5.0L (including stock cam) and a set of AFR 165s and 1.7 rockers. Take away the fancy shmancy heads and add in 49 cubic inches, and I dont see why 400hp would be so hard. A TFS stage 1 cam and a set of retro roller lifters would make for a...

few pics of my explorer rear disc brake setup

Its my understanding that the Crown Vic disk swap is basically a bolt on for the small bearing rear ends (8" and early/small car 9") and the Explorer brakes fit the big bearing rear ends.

few pics of my explorer rear disc brake setup

I bought a complete Exploder rear disk setup for $60. The yards around here are probly as good as any anywhere else, you just have to have patience and wait for one with new rear brakes. They come along pretty regularly, so its not a long wait ususally. Anyway, looks good, hope they work good...
