T&L or TandL engines experience? - crate engines w/warranty?

Photographic evidence - It's a boy! Hey all, I talked to the owner, Lloyd, early this week, and he was going to try to dyno my engine before the end of this week. He's going in for a medical leave for about 2 weeks but my engine should be next after that. It's already set up on the...

    Summit/Northern Radiator Mounting - Summit 380100 ok?

not yet, but I can swing by the shop as soon as engine bay is detailed and the KRC PS pump reservoir is out of the way. It's currently blocking the installation and will have to be moved a little farther back, down, and out of the way to test it. Should be able to in the coming weeks . . .

    Summit/Northern Radiator Mounting - Summit 380100 ok?

The problem is, narrower dual-fan setups are hard to find Travis, The reason I went with my width of radiator core is that I didn't want an overlapping dual fan or a dual fan that had the fans diagonally mounted rather than side-by-side. It seemed that all the narrower ones had a similar...

    xxx ... 1965 " BLACK FANGs " Mustang ... XXX

That's it, I'm taking a trip to Thailand! Looks like I'd be right at home. Amazing food, amazing sights, and musclecars too! :D It was worth the wait for all those photos . . . nice job. You consistently carried the riveted theme everywhere, and it works.

Anyone planning on dropping the new 5.0 into a classic?

It's an outstanding engine, and to each his own, but . . . I'm not sure it's the engine you want if you want a Boss 302-style car. I'm doing mine roughly influenced by Trans-Am Boss 302s, and I have to say that I wouldn't want something that heavy up front. Boss 302s had good weight...

mods to core support for larger radiator

Travis, here's the thread - I have low-profile dual fans Ok, check out this thread. It has links to the Summit/Northern rad and flex-a-lite fan I used. Measurements should be on the Summit site. My goals with this setup were: 1. Dual fan with 2,500cfm or more - I think it's about 2,700...

mods to core support for larger radiator

I'm in the process but won't have answers for at least a month I have a Summit 27"(?) - I did another thread here on it and mounting options, but don't have time to look right now. You need to watch the height, though. Keep in mind that a radiator that wide will probably be sitting on the...

Crate Engine Builder wants me to go F.A.S.T. EFI over Mass-Flo . . .

6AL should be fine I went with the 6AL-2 programmable, for some laptop tuning capability, but a 6AL should be fine. Part of the reason for the programmable ignition was hedging my bets because I wasn't going with the Mass-Flo with its ignition control. I'd at least like the option of playing...

Crate Engine Builder wants me to go F.A.S.T. EFI over Mass-Flo . . .

yeah, I didn't want to mix this with the T&L discussion just wanted to keep it as an objective discussion of the two units. Hot Rod Mag recently did an EZ-EFI install and had a few good things to say: EFI System Conversion - We Install The FAST EZ-EFI Kit On A '65 Malibu SS - Hot Rod Magazine

Anyone with Steeroids and a Cobra T-pan, 302/351?

stock oil pan and cobra t-pan side by side If it helps, here are a few photos. The t-pan is about 1/2" to 1" deeper in the rear but slightly shallower right before the sump. The rack would come in about halfway through the rear portion, where it seems about 1/2" or 3/4" taller than the old...

First Time engine build - need 331 advice

That's a nice pan . . . I like it, and the hump at the rear looks like a great idea for clearance, but I like the T-pan styling that matches finned valve covers, and the oil control in the t-pan. There are doors in the "T" kickouts that keep all the oil from flowing to the outside under hard...

Crate Engine Builder wants me to go F.A.S.T. EFI over Mass-Flo . . .

nope, not yet . . . I keep getting the runaround . . . I'll be sure to post something as soon as I have a dyno run or have it in my hands, but I keep getting the runaround on the final delivery date.

Anyone with Steeroids and a Cobra T-pan, 302/351?

Hey all, I'm looking for someone with experience on how a 302 or 351 Cobra T-Pan fits with a Steeroids rack. I've done research on their webpage - it looks like the big block t-pan has issues that require using washers on the motor mounts - but haven't found anything definite for a small...

First Time engine build - need 331 advice

I'm looking at windage trays now, shop doesn't want me to swap pans not to hijack the thread on armand, but the shop doesn't want me to swap pans - they want to make sure the oil pump pickup works well with the pan I'll use, which I understand and respect. I'll probably try the Cobra-style...

First Time engine build - need 331 advice

armand, I'm having my original '70 302 block done as a 331 roller with AL heads, forged crank, roller rockers, 9.5:1 compression or so. We've exchanged PMs, but I'm happy to compare notes as I go along. I do like that the '70 block is a bit heavier, but I'm not at all certain that all the...

    Flowmaster vs Magnaflow mufflers

if you can even get them past the rear axle and suspension @tx65, I'd love to have rear exits, but getting around a 3-link rear suspension is going to take an exhaust expert and some non-round tubes. And no, I don't want side exits. Currently, my Magnaflows are taking a dump, as they say. :D...

T&L or TandL engines experience? - crate engines w/warranty?

There are a lot of guys in Cobra forums, on Chevy forums, and on the forum the T&L Wait List created at tandl.freeforums.org • Index page - basically a support group for us in the wait list who have received engines and been happy with them. Not happy with the wait, mind you, but happy...

T&L or TandL engines experience? - crate engines w/warranty?

yeah, he is. 14 Months. Guys with higher engine numbers have gotten theirs already. I still think they build decent engines, but am tired of waiting. Filed a complaint with the DoJ. Will follow up with a BBB complaint and a Sheriff's office call. Aluminum blocks take a backseat from all my...

Finally got my Kwiklifts set up - ceiling <8 feet

Lay-flat ramps? coolblue, did you get the lay-flat ramps and set them up? My girlfriend is getting them for me as an Xmas present. I cut 4 22" 2x6 pieces to lay them on as they recommend in the instructions - you can see them there, even though they recommend 2x4s. More support with the 2x6...

Finally got my Kwiklifts set up - ceiling <8 feet

Hey all, Finally got my Kwiklift ramps set up in my short and narrow garage space. These are going to allow me to do a few things: 1. In their "lay flat" mode, I won't scrape my exhaust when I enter the garage - I go up from the sidewalk to get into my garage, then it quickly levels...
