    If the motor is running....that is positive. It is going to be worn,,,,???cylinders??? Your best bet is to take it apart and look at it. You can get a 351w shortblock for under $3500.00 from many, many builders.....CHP, Keith Craft, DSS, FRPP, etc....

    Get a QuickFuel ProVAc 750...........can be had on ebay from time to time as well.........put one on my 351w...needed to go up a size on the squirter, and down a size on the jets....BUT HOLY CRAP! Way better throttle response than my EFI cars! UNREAL. :banana:

    I would NOT use stock rods........just lost a 351w roller motor due to perhaps the stock rods with ARP bolts! Go H beam or Pro I beam....the extra $100-$150 is well worth it!

    Buy performer RPM or stick with plain performer?

    The RPM kills the performer sooooo bad! Get the RPM or a stealth,,,,,,I prefer the QC of edelbrock over holley.....I saw some real shabby work on some stealth intakes.

    8 inch rear opinions

    Build a 9 inch if you are starting from scratch. I have an 8" behind my 351w that has about 409hp at flywheel........it has held up to many burnouts, But it would blow to pieces if I run slicks at a track.

    Hi: I was wondering what you are suppose to lube the inner cable (that spins) with, on a speedometer? I snapped my old speedo cable right where it enters the tranny! :rolleyes: I guess those burnouts did it in?!? Any way, are you suppose to put any lube or leave it dry? Thanks

    Any time you are working around Gasoline....BE very careful..........the WORST thing in the world is to be BURNT! I have seen people begging for death, after being burnt :(
