    67 Stang Radio Question

The radio you buy should be what they call a "DIN" mount. In the box there will most likely be a paper template you can use for laying out the opening on the bezel. I bought a new (repro) bezel for mine when I installed the radio. As others have said, a Dremel works great. Here's a shot of...

    Underdash Light 66 Mustang

Those underdash lights have to have a very good ground to work...there is a screw that holds the metal light housing to the underside of the dash. I'd unscrew that so the housing comes free and scuff up the area of the dash that contacts the housing when its installed with some sandpaper...

Was white different in 65? I ordered white arm rests.

The arm rest pads are just a block of wood topped with a thin layer of foam and wrapped in the vinyl, stapled on the bottom. You can easily remove the vinyl and get some that better matches what you are looking for from a local upholstery shop. Once you have the vinyl, you could do the whole...

hood clearance with 351w and vic jr intake? Also what motor mounts?

I am running the same motor/intake setup on my '68. I'm using the TCP mounts which give it a little more drop. Everything is tucked under my Eleanor (gasp!) fiberglass hood which is open under the scoop, and it is still tight. I do have a standard round chrome air cleaner, so a drop base may...

where can I find a guage pod for a 67?

Gauges You can also do the "Shelby" underdash setup. It's basically just an upside down Rally-Pac with a filler plate. Shelby installed them in his '67s. Mine is a repro and I installed AutoMeter SportComp Water Temp and Oil Pressure. Good luck, Kelton

    Help with mini starter please

Thanks for the responses guys! Max Power, I was just wondering if maybe it had been wired wrong and over time the incorrect wiring had caused the starter to fail. I did some more checking last night though and found that it is wired basically the same way as all the other mini starter users...

    Help with mini starter please

Hi Gang, Had a problem starting the car yesterday. It has started flawlessly for six months, no problems. Started great yesterday morning and drove her to a meeting. After a four hour meeting, came out to leave and when I turned the switch, "clunk." Hmmm. Popper out the voltmeter and had...

Gen II Lightning - Driver's Side-Exit Exhaust Kit?

Thanks Jason! Yep, looks like a bit too much work to replace and relocate the fuel tank with a cell. Oh well, she'll have to do as is! :D Kelton

Gen II Lightning - Driver's Side-Exit Exhaust Kit?

Hello, I picked up my new '04 Lightning last night. I have been salivating over this truck for months and finally got everything in line to get her. In addition to the standard chip, pulley, filter upgrades, I'd really like to add the side-exit exhaust to the driver's side, so that it...

what is the dist. with the Hei setup on it for the FORD

I don't know about it being the "best" but I'm running a DUI and it performs great. Here's a picture: As others have mentioned, it does ride a bit high, and getting a 14" air cleaner to fit may be an issue. I am running a Victor Jr. intake that has an air-gap style design, so the carb...

    Cable Clutch help

Don't mean to highjack this thread, but... Quick question guys, If my car has factory manual discs up front and drums in the rear, and I decide to switch over to SSBC discs on front and rear, can I just add the Mustang Steve pedal setup with power booster and a proportioning valve to have...

    Trunk Loom Clip in 66?

Paul, There are metal tabs that are built into the top edge of the trunk lip...maybe three tabs to each side. Just tuck the wire up behind it. You may have to pull the tabs down with a screwdriver first though. Kelton

    Electrical

Bear in mind that the "Universal Harness" isn't a direct fit for the 67. That said, Mustang Monthly did a Painless harness install in a 65 (or was it a 66?) a few months ago and it was fairly straight-forward. The only downside is you have to re-use the stock connectors from your old harness...

    65/66 vs 67/68 Radiator Support

Thanks Jay! The car I will be working with will be completely disassembled, so that looks to be the perfect time for this type of mod. C'ya! Kelton

    65/66 vs 67/68 Radiator Support

So, if I have a 65 that needs a new radiator support, but I want to put in a 24" radiator, do I: A. Put in a 65/66 support and cut it out for the larger radiator? B. Put in a 67/68 support? If I go with B, is the 67/68 support a direct fit, or will mucho fabrication be in order...

    people with rear disc brakes...

It is totally different than the drum setup on my '65. There is a lever at the top of the caliper that gets pulled forward when the handle is pulled. The pictures will help alot I think...basically we turned the rear cables around so the ends were reveresed to the center lever and the...
