    A picture will definitely help. But if it's a black vacuum line it went to rubber block where other emission vacuum lines ( air diverter valve, air bypass valve and EGR) were also attached.

    If either the cannister or the lines going to it are broke in some place, Yes it could cause a vacuum leak.
