Long tubes vs equal length shorties

I do have TCP power R&P. Call Stan at FPA and tell him your scenario, he's striaght up and well know if they will work. Also ask him the price. If they fit your budget, they will be the last headers you'll buy for that car.

Long tubes vs equal length shorties

Hey Allcarfan, I have an 302/AOD/R&P combo in my stang. If budget allows, I highly recommend FPA long tube headers. The quality is awesome and they don't hang down any lower than my bottom frame rails. I also have the Magnaflow system with X pipe, it's tight but works.

    aod pressure port

Sorry read the rest of your post, you'll need some kind of mounting bracket at the carb end of the cable. Check the lokar website or contact them and I think you may need some special adaptor for a Holley, likely the SRK-4000. Make sure your secured correctly at the tranny and the lever moves...

    aod pressure port

There are (3) pipe plugs on the pass. side of the tranny, the pressure port is the center on. Set tension to 35psi at idle.

    aod question

Just been there and done that. My AOD came with the shift lever down like I asked for from the builder but I had to flip it up to work with the stock shifter. Park is at 2 o'clock and 1st at 10o'clock, yours likely will be them same. Early 90's aod's are setup different I believe. You'll...

I have $15,000 to spend on my 68 fastback...what would you do?

Sounds like your on the right track. If your set on the CR1 seats, make sure you sit in them first. I was all set on them to but then my gf got them for her car and they are too small for me and I'm only 5'10", 175lbs. The shoulder area sits too deep and wasn't comfortable at all. I ended up...

    Aftermarket Intake/head combos?

I'd recommend the AFR 185's and the Edelebrock RPM Air Gap or Stealth intake. The 185's maybe more than your motor needs now but at least you can grow into them when your rebuild your 289 or go stroked. Maybe others can chime in if the 185's would be detrimental, otherwise you can go with...

solid motor mounts..but solid tranny mount?

I would go with a poly from summit on a modified car. Good vibration dampening and has the interlock for increased safety over stock. Is there a good reason to go solid throughout?

    Aluminum Radiator...who to contact?

I'll second the universal Summit radiator by Northern. It's awesome for $170 and polishes up nice. Measure your opening, choose your inlet/outlet sides and order up. You'll have to make some base and top brackets but it can be done fairly easily as alot of guys around here have done.

New Seat opinions for my 66 coupe

Checkout the Corbeau CR1's in colored cloth or black leather. http://corbeau.com/products/cr1/cr1.shtml# They are on my summer list. No one has ever been uphappy with them but you also pay premium, well worth it IMO for such a crucial item. They also have great seatbelts and harnesses...

Which aluminum raditor/fan combo for 68 FB?

Try the Summit 380425 or 380325, you'll have to do some creative hose management but its doable. Did mine in a 67 which is the same as yours, make or buy the lowers and get the Mustang big block upper radiator support bracket and youll be good.

    aod ?s

I believe that your torque maybe too much for a stock AOD and therefore would recommend a higher quality unit with the larger servo, better bands & valve body and one piece input shaft. If you know a local shop that can do this to a stock AODand has good references you might save some $$...

Which aluminum raditor/fan combo for 68 FB?

The Summit brand -Northern 26" Al. radiator would be perfect, it's only $160, the quality is awesome and it will polish up nicely. You'll have to make/buy some saddle mount lower brackets but no biggie. From my research the 16" dia. Spal or Zirgo 3300cfm fans are both good choices but I'm...

    Floor shifter rebuild question

I have two 67 stock floor shifter assemblies as I'm trying to piece together a correct one for my lower console. They both have a hogpodge of different nuts, washers and wrong bushings from prior rebuild attempts. I bought the two correct replacement bushings and I think I may have the...

How many of you are using CUT PILE CARPET ?

Cut pile for me too. A more luxury look and feel for the updated deluxe interior. Its 100% nylon so it won't fade like the 80/20 stuff. Easier to clean as crap doesn't get trapped in the loops. You can also get all kinds of custom mats from ACC in pile also, I chose the Cobra style.

    Is it a 9" Differential?

Someone swapped out the rearend years back on my 67 FB and I'm trying to figure out what I have and if it's worth rebuilding to support the new stroker (450hp+) or get an actual nine somewhere. I have a couple pics but too big to post and the car is at the shop. The rear view of the housing...
