    Size/dimensions of 302 vs. 351?

Ford used to offer a 392 crate motor and I believe it was based on a 351W block. If you think about it a crate motor comes w/ a guarantee and reliability. But ther are formulas to build a 302 and get 400hp for around 2500 USD. I'm talking old school 302 w/ cast iron heads. I think the guy's...

How to drag race your classic

I didn't read through the whole thing but I will add this; when you get to the track uncap your headers. In some cases it can make a big enough difference.

    Percy's high performance polycarbonate windshield

I'd rather have more weight on the rear than the front. But I wouldn't use a "plastic" windshield or rear glass. Auto glass is specifically designed to break into little pieces. Lexan/plastic won't. But its your ride do what you want.

    1966 T5 Vibration Issue

I had a 64 Falcon I converted from 6-8. The engine, tranny and rear end all came from different vehicles. I wound up shimming up the rear end. All I used were some 1/16th inch pieces of aluminum sheet. I think it was two per side and that fixed my harmonics. None whatsoever and it was good 'til...

What kind of ignition should I get?

I have the Ignitor II module. It installs easily. Put it in, adjust it, and forget it. I Didn't spring for the coil as I already had an MSD Blaster 2. The module is even cheaper by itself.

    Hi-Po Manifolds

I went from headers to HiPo manifolds to tri Ys. I liked the tri Ys better than the manifolds as far as performance goes. Tri Ys had no clearance issues... as long as you get the drop bracket for the power steering (if you have it).

What to do and can it be done?

If money is no object, go w/ the rack and pinion. You can't beat the feel of rack and pinion. If you're on a budget, rebuild the original components. Usually this consists of replacing seals. Also one of the major culprits of a leaking system are the aluminum seats in the control valve and ram...

GT Handling Equipment and rear sway bar.

The traction bars are different. They bolt forward of the spring and the rear bolts on the shock/spring pad on the rear with what looks similar to the forward end of a strut rod w/ two muffins.

GT Handling Equipment and rear sway bar.

66 Runt, No offense taken. I was just trying to find out if it came w/ a rear sway bar. My Dad gave me the car as a gift when I retired from the Navy. It has been a part of the family since 1984. Well the car has had some damage as the original owners campaign raced it and it was hit in the...

No but it seems you do not know as well, as you have provided no answer.

GT Handling Equipment and rear sway bar.

What exactly is the GT handling equipment on 66 'Stangs? Any one know of any sway bars that will fit a 66 Mustang that have come off of other vehicles? Thanks

    Bump steer kits.

As far as I know the car is stock. The window sticker (yes the original one) stated the car has the GT handling equipment. What this GT equipment is I'm not sure, believe to be a thicker swaybar and heavier coils springs and possibly leaf springs as well. I think I'll get a front end alignment...

    Bump steer kits.

Do they actually work? I never had it become an issue in other cars that I had (the ones that were prone to bump steer) but it seems my 'Stang has it pretty bad. This may be because the power steering magnifies it. (the other cars were manual steering.) The kits are kind of pricey, are they...

    14 x 7 Cragar s/s w/235 60 14 tires on 66 mustang.

I did some calling around and one source stated that there would be clearance issues. Anyone have any info on this?

    14 x 7 Cragar s/s w/235 60 14 tires on 66 mustang.

Did a little more research. I looked up dodgestangs website and found that my desired setup (235 60 14 on Cragar ss) would require a 3.5 back spacing but would need the fender rolled. However it does not list the stock backspacing. As of now I have the same tire size on a set of "smoothie" rims...

    14 x 7 Cragar s/s w/235 60 14 tires on 66 mustang.

I was wondering what back spacing I would need to fit w/o clearance issues. Thanks!

Just how safe can you feasibly get a first generation Mustang to be?

Tough decision. I agree w/ zookeeper. Even in his later posts, they built them as fast and as cheaply as they could. SF is a neat city, I lived there for 3 months back in my Navy days. But any big city is rife w/ thieves. Years ago you could get an ABS kit that was a...

What engines/tranny will fit an '86 Tempo?

I have an '86 Tempo (2.3 HSC TBI/CFI) that is a really solid car, but it has no get up and go. I have heard of people dropping in a V-6 as well as the Taurus SHO setup. I'm not looking for a racecar just some more umph so I can get out in traffic or get out of the way. Also I'm not looking to...
